Are nuances of communication not your strong suit? That emoji is literally a facial expression, very clearly represented. Unusual for someone to see that expression on a face and not know what it means.

I don't even know why I care but this photo looks nothing like the recent ones elsewhere on line. Is it an old one or is it meant to be now? I read once ( on here? ) that he looks like he works on the waltzers and that's all I see now ( or was that Robbie Williams? Same vibe.

I've never been a fan. However, I've heard that he's an absolute perfectionist, he'd practice harder and longer than anyone and perfected his skills, so he deserves his successes if he's put that much hard work and effort in with his career that he had a natural talent with

I have never met him, but agree with what you’ve said.
Thanks to my son’s obsession with football, I watched David play - omg , he was so talented!! Out of this world . Who can ever forget the Bend it like Beckham era, and the movie. And all those corner/free kicks, Man U’s victories, the England wins (and some losses).

How can anyone say David is thick - there was an incredible intelligence in a way he played football. And it took huge discipline and dedication to achieve what he has, and huge love for the game.
On top of that, he was beautiful.

Watching his documentary brought back the sweet memories of late 90’s and early ‘00s. I loved that time.
So perhaps I look at David with a rose-tinted glasses.
But I don’t think there’s anything wrong with appreciating a beauty where there’s one.
Of sharing it with the world if you posses it - in the way he does.

Agree, the excitement when you got a free kick in his range and the possibility of him curling the ball into to top corner was very exciting. He achieved that skill through bloody hard work.

Usually our most successful sportsmen and sportswomen do get honours though: Sir Andy Murray, Sir Mo Farrah, Dame Kelly Holmes, Dame Tanni Grey-Thompson etc. so I can see why he may feel like he's been overlooked. Not even an MBE.

According to Bower his lack of recognition is due to his dodgy business links in Saudi and Emirates and lack of charitable involvement. I do think he’s recently upped his charity work probably for that purpose. Him and VB are very valiant brand Beckham is everything.

I'm in two minds on the tattoos. In certain lights and with a certain amount of coverage it can make it look like a person is going gradually mouldy like a rarely bleached shower enclosure.

I'd like to politely disagree with the poster who thought it didn't work as an advert though. I think it really does, especially with the matt fabri vs shiny skin contrast and the way the white logo pops out in the mouldy gloom.

Eh? Beckham was well known for having a fantastic attitude on the pitch and being incredibly hard working in training. He's a rare example of a sportsman or woman who completely maximised the talent they had.

He might have been a talented footballer and all round nice guy, except for alledged cheating. But all the botox fillers makes him look plastic and that is an ugly look in men or women.
