I have never met him, but agree with what you’ve said.
Thanks to my son’s obsession with football, I watched David play - omg , he was so talented!! Out of this world . Who can ever forget the Bend it like Beckham era, and the movie. And all those corner/free kicks, Man U’s victories, the England wins (and some losses).
How can anyone say David is thick - there was an incredible intelligence in a way he played football. And it took huge discipline and dedication to achieve what he has, and huge love for the game.
On top of that, he was beautiful.
Watching his documentary brought back the sweet memories of late 90’s and early ‘00s. I loved that time.
So perhaps I look at David with a rose-tinted glasses.
But I don’t think there’s anything wrong with appreciating a beauty where there’s one.
Of sharing it with the world if you posses it - in the way he does.
