The duller the better!

I’ll start… I couldn’t decide which yoghurt to have, so had a few spoonfuls of both. Cherry, then Mango and Passionfruit.

The roofers packed up and left at 10.58. Phone call was at 11.02. Phew!

Natsku · 19/06/2025 12:00

Its my last day of work before I start my holiday but I'm already in the holiday mood so don't want to do any work and cannot stop being silly. Perhaps I better leave early.

Maitri108 · 19/06/2025 14:03

I've booked a carpet delivery.

NewspaperChips · 19/06/2025 14:04

It’s blue bin day.

FawnDrench · 19/06/2025 19:27

I’ve put the fan on this evening and it’s now cooling my feet, ankles and lower legs very effectively.

FlightCommanderPRJohnson · 19/06/2025 20:45

I've just put my fan on too. I've set it to oscillate so I get a lovely cool waft across my body as I lie on the sofa in my sleep t-shirt.

I was all set to tell you about my first darts practice night and then DH and I ended up helping to stop a robbery at the pub we were in and it’s no longer a boring night.

I would like to know more about this but you'll need to describe it in a way that makes it sound mundane.

Natsku · 20/06/2025 06:39

My parents are visiting. I've forgotten how much tea my dad drinks. I might start keeping track to see just how many cups he drinks in a day. I mean, I drink a lot of tea but I think he's winning.

FawnDrench · 20/06/2025 12:09

I am going to the pub with DH and friends later - I sincerely hope there isn’t a robbery in progress when we get there.

I really don’t think there’s any way to make it sound mundane! Everyone was outside smoking apart from me and DH and this guy ran in holding a can of lighter fluid and sat down at a table panting like he had been running a marathon. He went behind the bar and a regular who was outside spotted him and chased him (we couldn’t see the bar entrance from our seats and it just looked like he was walking to the loos at first). He then jumped over the end of the bar where my DH grabbed him and pinned him from behind. Thankfully the way DH held him he couldn’t move his arms as that’s when I noticed the guy was holding a hammer. DH hadn’t noticed that at all. After he was dragged outside (screaming his head off about someone coming to get him) and we phoned 999 he ran off past the police station across the road and went to another nearby pub where he was arrested. We had the can and the hammer still at our pub at least.

I guess having to give all the details to the police for our statements was effectively mundane as you have to go over everything slowly.

And I also learned the days of the little black notebooks for the police are long gone. It’s a phone they type the statement into now then you have to confirm it and sign in a box at the bottom. There you go, that can be the most boring part of the story.

We’re planning on having a very boring night in while dogsitting for a friend tonight. After last night I don’t think we want to go to a pub at all this weekend.

Natsku · 20/06/2025 13:08

Definitely not mundane! Very exciting! And well done to your DH!

Natsku · 20/06/2025 13:15

Me and my parents just walked down to the harbour to watch the midsummer band boat set off on its water gig. They had technical problems and were half an hour late setting off. That was rather boring.

Maitri108 · 20/06/2025 13:42

I've just booked a charity collection.

SandrenaIsMyBloodType · 20/06/2025 22:45

I didn’t go for a walk again. I am very bored by own inability to go for a walk.

Natsku · 20/06/2025 23:01

We drove to the next town tonight to see the midsummer bonfire.
There was nothing to see, it had already burnt down to embers by the time we arrived.

Tarkan · 21/06/2025 02:25

DH and I dared to go back to the same pub as last night. Thankfully nice and boring and no robbery attempts tonight. We did however get some free drinks as a thank you.

echt · 21/06/2025 05:50

I'm in Australia and have to dispose of a body this afternoon.

My dog killed a possum last night and it's too big to go into the green waste bin which won't be collected anyway until next Friday, so will smell horrendous. It's behind my car in a paper carrier bag and I'll see if I can get it into a dog poo bin when we go for a walk.

Honestly. I feel such sympathy for Ripley and his murder admin.

echt · 21/06/2025 09:34

It went well. It's our winter solstice today, a cold and brilliantly sunny day which more or less guaranteed no-one would be pic-nicking at the barbecues which is where the bins are. The late Mr Possum went straight in the general rubbish. How did I know it was a he? - they really do have large knackers.

Natsku · 21/06/2025 09:44

Possum knackers was something I did not know I needed to know about it but now I am glad I know.

Its a bit crappy weather today for Midsummer Day. I am disappointed.

evtheria · 21/06/2025 09:46

I made myself an iced caffe latte this morning but my ice cubes melted too quickly and watered it down.

BeNiceWhenItsFinished · 21/06/2025 13:38

We came home from holiday yesterday and I need to finish unpacking and do some laundry, but I'm hot and can't be bothered.

FawnDrench · 22/06/2025 17:35

Haven’t done much at all today and enjoyed it immensely.

Tarkan · 22/06/2025 17:46

I’m dogsitting for a friend who lives just across the road from Morrisons which is really handy. Since I’m here alone for a few days I’ve bought myself a steak (with prepped veggies and colcannon mash to have with it and I’m going to make a mushroom sauce) then I can use leftover stuff later for a mushroom risotto for tomorrow, all things that everyone else at home would moan about me making. Even though I’m about a 5 minute walk from home it feels like I’m on holiday in an AirBNB by myself so other than dog walks I’m not planning on going anywhere for the next few days now.

Natsku · 22/06/2025 17:51

Went fishing today and caught some fish and ate them. They were satisfactory though small.

Less boring fact - DS ate one raw. Absolute savage.
