My partner has to work tomorrow so we’re going to go out for breakfast with our 3 year old before he goes to work and then I’m going to meet my mum (with my 3 year old) and we’re going to get ice cream and go to the cinema. Then when we get home I am planning to decorate cupcakes/biscuits with my 3 year old and maybe do some painting/crafts too 😊

I'm going to my daughter's for lunch. I was actually going to suggest not doing it as her husband has been working shifts and she's hardly seen him so was going to suggest they spent the day together but she's keen to see me. My mum and my husband's mum are bith

Musicaltheatremum · 29/03/2025 14:14

Oops doorbell went. Both our mum's no longer with us. Son is in Ireland I think but card has arrived. I'm really not needing or wanting a fuss. There's 365 days a year to be in contact

Cleaning ready for kids coming home from university next week. We’ll face time. DH is taking me out for a meal today.

Get ready to go to church at 8am...then my husband and children (8 and 3) have planned the rest of the day for me. Been told to wear comfy clothes and there will be for at some point. First time the youngest has managed to keep a surpriae. So I will see tomorrow

HereintheloveofChristIstand · 29/03/2025 14:21

Going to church and then taking the posy the flower ladies will make to lay on my beloved gran’s grave. Mother’s Day is the second anniversary of her passing away.

ItTook9Years · 29/03/2025 14:21

DD (14) is away at an air cadets camp. DH is out cycling. I’ll be packing and at some point driving the 4 hours for work on Monday because of rail engineering works.

GroovyChick87 · 29/03/2025 14:23

Nothing much. My mum and stepmum will call at some point during the day for me and the kids to give them their gifts. I will get some gifts from my own kids and then my husband will probably cook dinner so I don't have to do it.

tomorrowchild · 29/03/2025 14:30

Finish nightshift at 7am (Actually 8am thanks to clock change) put up some Mother’s Day decorations, have a nap, wake at around 12, prepare and cook afternoon
tea/buffet for 7 people. Have invited older dd and dm plus partners to mine for 3 o clock to celebrate the day. DDs first Mother’s Day so would like to make it special for her. Maybe a beach walk early evening if the weather stays nice. So I’ll be pretty busy all day but I enjoy having the family over. I’d rather cater myself than be in a packed out restaurant

Bootcamp gym session in the morning. Tidying up and cooking my favourite risotto at tea.
Lone parent to two teens. My eldest will get a card though, he doesn't need reminding. I can't trust him with risotto though.

MissyB1 · 29/03/2025 14:39

Dh booked a pub lunch for 1pm, 2 DC are coming but the eldest lives a few hours away and couldn't come up this weekend. We will walk the dog in the morning.

Kingofthetyrantlizards · 29/03/2025 14:42

We're going to go to a local NT place for lunch and so DD can do their Easter trail. They can be hit and miss at this property but hoping this is a good one - they often garden games out when they have trails on so that should be fun at least.... and DD doesn't eat chocolate so DH and I get the egg. It will be baby DS's first NT visit, but I expect he'll sleep through it!

UpUpUpU · 29/03/2025 14:47

I am on nights tonight and Sunday night so my day will be spent in bed so we’ll be going out for food a Monday evening.

However, I am a labour suite midwife so hopefully I will get the immense joy and privilege of being present as a woman becomes a mother ❤️

Friendofdennis · 29/03/2025 14:52

Church in the morning. Then farmers market at a country estate where I’m hoping to buy some nice treats for a buffet
for us at home. My young person will be over in the afternoon to share the food with us and give me card and gifts. Lovely relaxing day

Judgejudysno1fan · 29/03/2025 14:56

It night be eid tomorrow so waiting for that to be announced around about 6pm.
Can't wait. I love Eid.

reluctantbrit · 29/03/2025 15:06

We normally don't do anything, sometimes DD gets me a small thing. She is a Beavers Young Leader and when she has the time she also does their craft activities so I may get something.

By sheer accident I booked us in for an afternoon tea, not realising the date and it wasn't advertised as a Mother's Day one. So we will be in food coma come 5pm.

TheLadyMaud · 29/03/2025 15:08

DH and DS1 are going to do a hobby they've not done for a while as I've been studying so DH has stayed at home to help with the younger DCs. So, I'm taking my mother to breakfast at spoons and the. We are off to the garden centre to splurge on plants for the garden and pots. Have a high tea with scones and cake planned for later when everyone is home.

Same as Musicaltheatre mum

Mum died in September so this will be a first as we always spoilt her and the day was about her.

Am old (58) and both children have left home.

Going to my Mum’s grave and then a cuppa with my sister.

When I was younger and kids were young ( single mother) my mum always made it special by buying them token gifts for me and that was so special xxx

Ohwelljusttoday · 29/03/2025 15:18

I said to my workmates on the way home Friday ( both have children living at home) that I hoped they got made a cup of tea and felt cherished in whatever way x

Ohwelljusttoday · 29/03/2025 15:22

Will also have a FaceTime with my two lovelies in the afternoon x it is all the little things x

CMOTDibbler · 29/03/2025 15:24

Nothing. My mum and MIL are both dead, ds is at uni and is utterly shite with cards etc

Cards aren’t all they live up to with young ones- they don’t always see the need - will your son call you or receive a call?
I would be upset if I didn’t get that x

I did gently (!) remind both of mine mid week that it was Mother’s Day as I am sure they would have forgotten otherwise this year seeing as my Mum would’ve usually reminded them 😂

CMOTDibbler · 29/03/2025 15:37

@Ohwelljusttoday I very much doubt he’ll call. He was reminded by DH that he needed to do something a couple of times

Ohwelljusttoday · 29/03/2025 15:37

Don’t be a martyr - tell your son you want a card (if you want want one) and tell him you need him to remember special days - be prepared to remind him though from what you have said!
Best wishes for tomorrow x
