What are your plans for Mother’s Day tomorrow?

My partner has to work tomorrow so we’re going to go out for breakfast with our 3 year old before he goes to work and then I’m going to meet my mum (with my 3 year old) and we’re going to get ice cream and go to the cinema. Then when we get home I am planning to decorate cupcakes/biscuits with my 3 year old and maybe do some painting/crafts too 😊

DD and I heading to grannies for lunch and to see GGramps. DH heading to see his mum

Sunnyside4 · 29/03/2025 21:39

I normally work, but booked the day off. Had a fall out with my Mum a month ago (she's not easy so nothing new) and haven't spoken since. DD has gone to her BF's inlaws as they're not local and don't see much of them.

However, DH and I plan to go for a walk (live on edge of Cotswolds), take a packed lunch and might stop off at a character pub in the afternoon

faerietales · 29/03/2025 21:41

Nothing.

DH’s mum passed away last year so this is his first Mothers Day without her. I’ll see my mum next week for lunch but I’ve sent her gifts to be delivered tomorrow.

Making my children watch my football team in the FA Cup. Normally they wouldn’t be that interested, but because it’s Mother’s Day they have to 😁

A mixed day as it's around now our baby should have been born following a loss last year. However I'm now in 2nd trimester with this miracle baby so also celebrating that. Have a plan to go to garden centre and pick something nice to plant.

Other than that will depend on sickness!

Hortus · 29/03/2025 21:50

Out for brunch with my son and DIL, then back to theirs for a bit so I can see what they've been planting in their garden and he's bound to have got me some presents ( live half an hour from me). Then will go home and pick up presents and cake (which I've just taken out of the oven) and visit my 87 year old mum, it's possible one of my siblings will still be there as they are visiting her earlier in the day.

MaryOBlige · 29/03/2025 21:58

I’m going for breakfast with mum, dad siblings, nieces nephews and my adult DD. Then in the PM my SDD and her partner are coming round for garden drinks and DH is making us burgers.
I feel so lucky 😊
Im sorry to those who will have a painful or shit day.

Sewfrickinamazeballs · 29/03/2025 22:05

Both mums no longer around. DD had a strop and refused to go out with DH earlier so don’t expect any cards or presents, and I was asked if I’d prefer to have leftover x or leftover y for lunch tomorrow, so no nice pub lunch for me. DH will be taking DD to her sport anyway so might take myself off for a walk. Feeling sorry for myself much?

AliceMcK · 29/03/2025 22:14

All going to plan (both myself and 11yo been in bed all day feeling blah) DH and DDs will wake me up and I will get home made cards and 3 small gifts from school. Then I will go back to bed until brunch is ready. Afterwards we will go for a walk if nice weather, if not we will cuddle up to a movie.

Clearinguptheclutter · 29/03/2025 22:15

we’re going to go for a sunny walk in the Peak District (near where we live). I suspect DSs will moan a lot.

Hayley1256 · 29/03/2025 22:20

Spent a lovely day today shopping with DD9, tomorrow we are going round to my DB's for afternoon tea with my mum and my SIL's mum. Will go back to my mums after and make her some supper before more chill time - probs to some arts and crafts with DD in the morning. Hope everyone has a lovely day

PaganOfTheYuleTimes · 29/03/2025 22:33

DD will let me have a lie in and get up with the dog and bring coffee about 9 30 am (tbf she does that most sundays, she's 12). Then breakfast in bed and cards & presents from the kids. Weather's looking ok so maybe a beach walk with doggo, dh is doing duck in plum sauce for tea with the kids help. School clothes and bags have been sorted today by the kids so I can put my feet up tomo! Then we'll have a smaller celebration on the European date for mother day later in the year. Looking forwards to it already.

bringonyourwreckingball · 29/03/2025 22:37

Lunch with my mum and sister and both dds as dd1 is briefly back from Uni. I have a card and flowers but am more overwhelmed by how amazingly supportive of me they both are.

WorthyOtter · 30/03/2025 00:14

It's my first mother's day and my partner hasn't mentioned anything, really hoping there's something 😕

Offtobuttonmoontovisitmrspoon · 30/03/2025 00:29

Nothing. All of mine are working!

Zippedydodah · 30/03/2025 08:01

Nothing I suspect because DD rare remembers and DS doesn’t either! I’m used to it but it does feel a little bit painful to be honest.
dh would never think to prompt them so that’s that?
I will just suit myself today, DH can do his own thing.

Ilovebeingamama · 31/03/2025 22:29

Did everyone have a good day?
