How many loads of laundry will you do today?

I’m doing bedding, so that’s two loads.
Dark clothing is another load.
Delicates one load.
And hopefully towels as well.

5 loads today.

One load after midnight when the electricity is cheaper. Most will dry during the day in the utility room or get a quick tumble tomorrow night (after midnight of course)

Muchtoomuchtodo · 11/03/2025 18:21

Only one today but I did 4 yesterday as it was my day off work

troppibambini6 · 11/03/2025 18:24

I've only done one today because I've got noro virus but it's usually two or three. I've got 4dc and they all do a lot of sport so lots of kit to wash.

BobbyBiscuits · 11/03/2025 18:26

None. Just did a load the other day and CBA to fold it and put it away!

CalicoPusscat · 11/03/2025 18:26

Final one this morning then off to the launderette to dry everything (no dryer). I find clothes don't go 'off' if it's only one day

Should say zero!

Iknowaboutpopular · 11/03/2025 18:37

I do an average of 2 loads a day, every day of the week. Its sometimes very often more. We've got 6 dc though as well as us. Today, I've done 4 so far, 2 loads of bedding, the cleaning cloths and a load of darks. I'll probably squeeze in another before bed/overnight.

lucysmam · 11/03/2025 18:51

I've done two loads of bedding today. I have a system & if you miss the wash you want, you wait til the next time I do that wash!

CalicoPusscat · 11/03/2025 18:54

@lucysmam 😆

To be fair I have a backlog after norovirus so it all got done at once when I got back more energy. So 4 washes over the past couple of days. My washing machine drum is small.

Yellowbananasarebetterthangreen · 11/03/2025 19:10

We are a two people household. I do about 3 loads each week.

Hedjwitch · 11/03/2025 19:12
  1. That will do now until the weekend.
IKnowASecret · 11/03/2025 19:15

One. Whatever we wore today that won't go another day (uniform other than blazers etc, shirts trousers underwear and socks plus a tea towel or two maybe a towel or two. Me and two teenage lads. Fairly typical on a weekday. Sheets etc and other towels or hoodies or my jeans would be weekends.

RedRiverShore5 · 11/03/2025 19:24

None today, I did one load Saturday and 3 loads Sunday though as it was sunny and warm so I did some extra bits. I always do washing Sunday if we are in as it half price electric between 11 and 4 so bedding and towels at 60. Next load will probably be about Friday, 2 of us

JLT24 · 11/03/2025 19:27

Each day I do one dark and one white for baby stuff plus one other load of our things, towels or bedding. DS can’t have fabric softener on his clothes so that’s why I do his separately.

BeakyFlinders · 11/03/2025 19:29

We’ve had a vomiting bug since yesterday so have done four loads so far. Two lots of bedding and two lots of clothes, one that I would have done anyway and one that was clothes from last night that were vomited on. Fortunately it’s been sunny so I’ve been able to get it all on the line. DH is putting all the bedclothes back on now.

Notsupposedtohappen · 11/03/2025 19:35

None.
I’ve never done five loads a day in my life.

mrsdoylemrsdoyle · 11/03/2025 19:35

5 so far and at least another 5 waiting impatiently in the wings - machine broke down, and new one just installed today. A 10 day backlog 😱😱😱😱

namechangeGOT · 11/03/2025 19:38

None! I'm out of house 8-6 Monday to Friday so all our washing, drying and ironing gets done on a weekend!

Dizzybob · 11/03/2025 19:46

I simply wouldn't have time to do more than one a day mid week. One went on this morning before leaving for work, went on the line at lunchtime and it's just been put away. I suppose another could have gone on this evening but it would wait to be dried tomorrow.

TheNuthatch · 11/03/2025 20:14

I did two loads today, a hot towel wash and a darks wash. All dried out on the washing line. I do approx 12 loads per week so I try to do two loads per day.

Biscuitea · 11/03/2025 20:23

Monday is laundry day here. I hate having the machine on constantly and never-ending drying. At a push I may pop some in on Tuesday if there’s a lot. Never at weekends if I can help it.

Usually 2-4 loads.

HundredPercentUnsure · 11/03/2025 14:18

You must have a large households those doing multiple loads a day?! To not only accumulate that much but also in space to store it up and then space to dry it too!

Household of 4 (mucky young kids), one load today. No space for a tumble dryer and limited indoor air drying space. No outside drying space.

There was 4 adults, but my youngest recently passed away, so 3 adults now. Two queen size beds, I do one bed per wash. Towels - 3 bath towels, 1 bath mat, numerous hand towels ( change 1-2 times per day) and tea towels.
All line dried. All clothing washed in cold water. Towels, bedding and whites washed in hot. I don’t own a dryer. Clothing accumulates quickly with work clothes, gardening clothes, gym gear, etc etc …
