How many loads of laundry will you do today?

I’m doing bedding, so that’s two loads.
Dark clothing is another load.
Delicates one load.
And hopefully towels as well.

5 loads today.

I've done a whites load today. Generally I do one load every other day. Family of 4.

eqpi4t2hbsnktd · 11/03/2025 14:20

Might put away the laundry still hanging in the kitchen from the weekend!

Christ knows. We have four kids, one is a toddler and then we also have newborn twins which are both sicky and partial to a poonami. The washing machine is rarely off, frankly.

Oh gosh what a houseful of love you've got there! Congratulations on the newborn twins!

Hanging in the kitchen! Doesn't it dry all smelling of cooking, onions, garlic or whatever?

1984Winston · 11/03/2025 14:23

I'm also washing bedding, on my third load, I usually do one load a day

TimeForSprings · 11/03/2025 14:39

None.
It's absolutely pissing it down, so nothing will dry.
Fingers crossed we get a drier day tomorrow or Thursday, or we'll be drying indoors.

GiddyRobin · 11/03/2025 15:27

DH did bedsheets first thing this morning and hung them out to dry. It's been nice and sunny here with a breeze, so hoping they're dry and fresh for this evening. I love freshly dried bedding.

Family of 4 and usually one load a day/every other day.

Lentilweaver · 11/03/2025 15:30

None! 💃😅

AdoraBell · 11/03/2025 15:32

Me - zero, but DD is coming home after a week away so she’ll probably need to do a couple of loads.

TeenToTwenties · 11/03/2025 15:33

If I tried to do 5 loads in a day it would take over 13 hours!

GoldMoon · 11/03/2025 15:35

5 loads in one day ? How do you manage that with the cycles lasting 2.5 - 3.5 hours by 1.45pm .
What time did you get up !

Comedycook · 11/03/2025 15:37

Don't know about anyone else but my machine has some very short cycles....my shortest cycle is 14 minutes...which I sometimes use for quick uniform freshen ups.

LaPalmaLlama · 11/03/2025 15:40

Two but I last did one on Saturday so over the week it's probably 4/5 loads and then the following week would be maybe 6/7 because bedding would be two.

I do everything on the 1hr 40-degree wash other than towels and bedding

FrenchandSaunders · 11/03/2025 15:41

None. My washing machine seems to be on very little since we’ve become empty nesters.

I almost miss the rows with DD when I used to catch her putting it on with two thongs and a bra 🤣

AnnaQuayInTheUk · 11/03/2025 15:44

DH did towel.wash first thing.
He then did the spare room bedding as we had a friend staying at the weekend and then our son is coming to stay tomorrow.

Can't do any more than that as our clothesline won't take any more.

All out on the line when we had a very intense but unexpected rain and hail shower, so it ended up being finished off in the dryer much to DH's disgust.

Nothatgingerpirate · 11/03/2025 15:47

One little one - just husband and me here.
🙂

minnienono · 11/03/2025 15:50

Zero, I did 3 loads on Saturday, that will keep me going until Thursday at least

DemBonesDemBones · 11/03/2025 15:51

4-5 a day

Fontainebleau007 · 11/03/2025 15:52

I've done 4 whilst the sun is shining!

Tiddlywinkly · 11/03/2025 15:54

On average, 1-2 loads a day. Family of 4.
Plus, some hand washing of delicates.
It can feel overwhelming at times.

Don’t you have a quick wash option on your machine? I usually use the daily quick in 28 minutes, or sometimes the quick wash in 14 minutes. Occasionally the daily quick on 40 degrees which takes 58 minutes. Unless it’s heavily soiled, I wouldn’t want washing to take hours!

Is that Beko? It’s great for quick washes, everything clean, no need for long drawn out wash programmes imo.

Comedycook · 11/03/2025 15:57

All my laundry except underwear, towels and bedsheets gets washed on a quick 30 minute wash at 30 degrees.

I do have a quick but it is less energy efficient and I think less effective too.

It's a candy one...it changed my life!
