Talking of farmers (look away Derxa), I was behind a bus that had a No Farmers No Food ad on it this morning. Nothing said it was an ad or its source. It looked rather like Stagecoach were promoting the farmers' cause. I'd say the same if this was Just Stop Oil.... are there rules around this?

Stagecoach are a private company if I recall correctly. Why on earth would a bus company promote Just Stop Oil?

Piggywaspushed · 07/03/2025 16:45

Just an example.

Stagecoach is our local bus company.

Armstrong has four kids in p/s. He can send them where he likes, none of my business, doesn't need to justify it.

But suggesting he is extremely poor is in fact piss poor.

Agree. It is (as someone said earlier) tone deaf.

What on earth possessed him to come put with all that? He must have known he would be roasted for it.

Stagecoach are a commercial company and they have an advertising department. The farmers have paid for advertisements just like anyone else. It always astonishes me how much the left hate farmers. We’re literally putting food on your table and for a pittance.

Piggywaspushed · 07/03/2025 17:00

Jesus, I was pondering advertising rules. There was no sign it was an ad. Farmers in NI managed to get ads about veganism removed from buses. Can't have it both ways.

Who's bankrolling it?

Popcorn anyone?

Reform civil war A day after Rupert Lowe criticised Nigel Farage, Reform say Lowe has been accused of bullying staff and threatening the party chair with violence, and the police are involved.

Yet the whip is not suspended nor it seems Mr Lowe's party membership.

PandoraSox · 07/03/2025 17:25

Oh my days. I thought Reform would implode, but not quite as fast 🤣🤣🤣

Lowe is a wanker. Good for those women not letting him get away with it.

PickAChew · 07/03/2025 17:31

Such a nice man. Allegedly.

BIossomtoes · 07/03/2025 17:33

I can’t see Reform existing by the time we vote again.

Notonthestairs · 07/03/2025 17:37

Blimey.

Truss was out to lunch with Lowe this week. I was expecting them to announce she'd defected. Maybe it was the other way around.

A lot of "Reform" councillors are really Tories that defected. Very few have actually been elected on the Reform ticket.

Even if Reform succeeded in gaining 40 more MPs (i.e. an eight fold increase) and all of those from Labour seats, we would still have a Labour government.

I wonder how the loud and proud UK Tesla owners feel now ? As the resale value of their Swasticar slides.

Happy days 🎉. I just knew they would do that. So glorious to observe and I don't wish any of them well may it long continue.

A lot of 'independent' councillors are Tory too. They might just eat each other.

To add, couldn't edit, it's a statement that smacks of a response to a complaint made to the Parliamentary Standards Committee.

Reform UK spox says Rupert Lowe has now lost the party whip

James O'Brien

With Lowe’s whip withdrawn, the proportion of Reform MPs jailed for viciously assaulting a woman now stands at 25%.

Let's be clear that no one should ever be attacked at their place of work. It's abhorrent and rightly so.

So where does this leave Musk and his quite open support for Lowe?

I was just wondering that. Tricky. Musk can't claim infringement of freedom of Lowe's speech by the government.
