Good Morning Everyone! What are you all doing today?

Good morning from Newcastle! I'm currently drinking my first cuppa of the day, made by dd1, in bed in a Travelodge. It's not as peaceful as usual but not a bad way to start the day 😊. I'll jump up and shower when dd's done in there.

We were here for a tiny tiny gig last night & plan to spend the day wandering. Dd1 wants to visit Sephora & Primark. I'm not really sure where we're wandering to if anyone has any suggestions? We were planning to visit Durham but trains are not stopping there & I don't think I cba to spend an hour of the day on rail replacement buses 🤔

Dd2 stayed at home with their dad & didn't want to do anything with the day when I asked her what their plans were last night 🤷‍♀️. I did suggest maybe they wander to Lidl for pancake toppings - we'll see!

Just after tea time ish train home for us & it'll probably be cuppa and bed for me 💤

What about all of you? 🙂

Bit of prep for work done, hanging with the family now, bit more prep, laundry, work 12-6, home for kids’ bedtime, back to work for an event this evening 🙃🙃🙃

Zippedydodah · 01/03/2025 09:34

Good morning, it’s a very frosty start here, the fog is lifting and there’s bright sunshine so a beautiful morning.
I’m supposed to be doing an all day online watercolour workshop but our internet is infuriatingly bad at the moment so I’m not sure how much I will actually get to do 😡
DH is walking the dog, there’s Ragu in the slow cooker so only need to cook the tagliatelle, a raspberry, blackberry and apple crumble ready to go in the oven.
I hope you have a great day in Newcastle @lucysmam

Walkingwithdinosaurs · 01/03/2025 09:34

Probably being very lazy today, tea in bed is all I’ve managed so far.

Need to do laundry, drop DS to his match, then passport photos and home to make dinner and put laundry away.

We had been invited out tonight but I think we will give it a miss, it’s been a costly week so far with unforeseen car repairs that all but drained the savings account.

So it will be a movie and a glass of wine I think.

Fairyvocals · 01/03/2025 09:36

Morning! I’m just about to have my second cup of coffee before nipping into the shower.

It’s a beautiful day in London. 0 degrees but clear blue skies and sunshine.

When DD’s carers get here, we’ll head to our local cafe for tea and, possibly, cake and plan the rest of the day. I’m hoping for a yomp through our local woods, and maybe a trip to Costco to stock up on the pretzels that DD loves.

Definitely a low-key evening and possibly early bed - DP and I are both knackered after a rather stressful week.

Enjoy the gig, @lucysmam !

Crunchymum · 01/03/2025 09:36

Morning lucysmam

Hope you have a lovely wonder around Newcastle. I'm from the the other end of the country so no recommendations.

I'm currently laid up with a knee injury. It's taken 2 GP visits, 2 urgent care visits, 2 blood tests and an ultrasound to be told I have something they can't treat and I just need to R.I.C.E my knee. It's been a rubbish week but thankfully I WFH and the kids were all at school.

I've had to cancel swimming today. DC2 has a party later (rock climbing) and thankfully another parent is taking them. DP will be home from work by 1pm so he's taken the other 2 out for a bike ride / hot chocolate and they'll hit the big park on the way home.

I'm really struggling with being laid up as there is just so much that needs doing but I've got a book / magazines and a few podcasts.

Dinner will fajitas.

Family film later, although takes us longer to agree on one than it does to watch it these days 🤣

dothehokeycokey · 01/03/2025 09:37

Working till 4 ish then out for tea this evening.

Got a busy day tomorrow aswell so am kind of missing my weekend of laziness and chilling

Never mind got next weekend to do that

Kim82 · 01/03/2025 09:40

Good morning! I did look for your weekly post earlier this morning but couldn’t see it so thank you for bumping it.

I’ve got a busy day today, I have a house full as we had 3 extras stay over last night - dd20’s best friend, my niece who is 12 (little besties with dd10) and as they were also with dd10’s friend from across the street who is also 12 they asked if she could stay over too so it was manic last night 😂

No idea what time they went to sleep but everybody is still sleeping now so I imagine it was late and the younger ones will be shattered today. Oh well, they’ll survive!

Today’s plans are to do the mountain of washing that has built up over the week, drop dd10 and dniece to their dance show practice as 12.30pm, come home, clean the house, hopefully fit in getting the car cleaned before picking up the girls at 4pm, dropping dniece back home then back home to finish any cleaning/washing.

We’re having an easy tea of hotdogs tonight then ds23’s boyfriend is coming round to have a wine and film night with me and dd17 (unsure if ds is coming, sometimes he does, sometimes he doesn’t) and hopefully dd10 will conk out in bed early after her sleepover and 3.5 hours of dance!

I’m just having a quiet half an hour enjoying the peace and a cup of tea before my Tesco delivery arrives and I’ll wake the girls up and chaos ensues again!

daffodilandtulip · 01/03/2025 09:40

My last day to strip the bathroom tiles before the new bath (FINALLY!). Just got a small section on the floor left to do but I don't know what they were fixed on with, I'm literally chipping them off inch by inch. Some other sections just fell off (and took half the wall with it 😂). It'll be worth it by the summer when it's all sparkly and new.

Will relax afterwards with a sunny dog walk, and crappy tv later. Making a potato and chorizo tray bake thingy.

It feels like spring and that makes me so happy and full of life.

soccermum10 · 01/03/2025 09:43

Morning,

Just finished my 2nd cup of coffee. Been decorating most of the week off, so gonna chill today. Lots of sofa time as my body is crying out for it, and my skin is awful at the moment with all the decorating.

I'm just going to potter around and enjoy some quiet time. Nit sure what the plan is for tea yet.
Hope everyone has a lovely Saturday 🙂

KittenPause · 01/03/2025 09:44

Drinking coffee with the sun pouring in through the window watching TV. Lovely blue skies. I really should get out but I'm not that well these days

Contemplating the fact I really should mop the floor and hoover and drop some stuff off at the tip now I'm declutterring a bit

Desperately trying to decide what colour to repaint my house and what bits to buy to switch up the look a bit. I want to go green but think neutral is better if I ever get round to selling as I don't want to do it all again.

I've done some washing because I soaked a bath mat yesterday rinsing viakal off the shower door and it was still wet this morning after I'd hung it over the bath

Everyone's out so I'm enjoying the peace and quiet. I'm loving it actually

LittleRedRidingHoody · 01/03/2025 09:45

Morning all!

Just waiting for DS to finish his swimming lesson and then going to the coast as there's a bit of sunshine here. Will hit the Starbucks drive thru for the first iced drink of the season en route, which I may be more excited for than the beach 😂

We're going down to Studland Bay so DS is very excited for the car ferry, and probably the arcade in Swanage when we get too cold. I'm also rooting for a cute cafe and cake, and popping into the craft shop for some wool (I will make Christmas stockings this year, which is what I say every year so figured I'd start early!)

And most importantly, absolutely blasting the Wicked soundtrack for a singalong on the way back after DS drifts off to sleep in the car. He's decided he absolutely cannot stand any of the songs, and I quite like them but not being 'allowed' to listen to them has made it somewhat of a guilty pleasure whenever DS falls asleep in the car 😂

Daffydaffodil25 · 01/03/2025 10:03

Hi. As it’s looking like a lovely sunny day up here, I would suggest a visit to Jesmond Dene. It’s a lovely park. Or maybe a walk down to the quayside?Hope you have a lovely day😊

JingsMahBucket · 01/03/2025 10:04

Morning @lucysmam and everyone. It’s beautifully sunny here, thankfully. I’m out early (for me) and sitting in a cafe waiting for breakfast. Afterward I’m going to do the rounds grocery shopping. The rest of the day is working on a client’s website and soft launching it.

For dinner, I’m thinking falafels, hummus, cheese, homemade tabbouleh, roasted chicken thighs. I was planning to cook this tomorrow but I’m craving it already!

Have a beautiful day everyone. 🙂

UnderHisEeyore · 01/03/2025 10:08

Morning! Bad sleep but had a tea and feeling perkier. Have English Muffins ready for sausage and egg insertion (feels like a win). Going to try out an electric scrubbing brush on the shower and hopefully the windows if the sun comes out. Am weirdly excited at the prospect Confused Happy weekend everyone!

Thislittlekitten · 01/03/2025 10:09

Morning all. @lucysmam Enjoy Newcastle.

Been woke through the night by the dog needing out for pees so don’t feel well rested.

Im not feeling great though I can’t put my finger on it. I’ve had a rubbish week at work I think I’m still feeling a bit low.

DH and helper DS have just brought me breakfast in bed and DH has walked the dog. I’m so great full. They both have plans as does DD today so I have a few hours to myself this afternoon. Feel I need it just to sort through a few things in my head. Feel silly like I could cry and it’s not even that major.

Take away for tea tonight and I started to watch Escape from Pretoria last night but was tired. Will finish that. I was enjoying it.

DS has an early sports tournament tomorrow so not a too late night for us.

CalicoPusscat · 01/03/2025 10:11

Morning! Finally recovering from norovirus but still very tired.

Managed a tea and small breakfast this morning with a friend. Now everything needs to be washed and wiped down but can do it slowly over the weekend. Farm shop in a bit.

RabbitsRock · 01/03/2025 10:19

Anyone know how to get rid of an ad on here? Jet2 Holidays keeps obscuring the thread & it’s really annoying! I can cancel it temporarily but it keeps coming back - couldn’t find anything about ads in settings.

Oh and we’ll watch the latest episode of Severance tonight after dinner. I usually can’t watch them on Friday night because my brain is too tired from the week. Severance is a show that needs your full attention.

KittenPause · 01/03/2025 10:20

Just did some hoovering but I'm exhausted and my back hurts so I'm having another coffee then I'll tackle some more

CalicoPusscat · 01/03/2025 10:22

@RabbitsRock that ad seems to irritate a lot of people

Toothicktounderstand · 01/03/2025 10:26

I’ve got an endometriosis flare (I’m stage 4 with organs stuck together so that’s nice!) and it’s the weekend.

I’ve got horses, lots of hay to stuff mucking out etc and I’m feeling mighty annoyed and in pain going right round my back.

Hoping it goes as fast as it has arrived.

Does it not realise I have plans?? I want to ride too.

Hope you all have a lovely weekend.

The irony is today marks the start of Endometriosis Awareness Month…

Treesinthewind · 01/03/2025 10:30

Going shopping for supplies for my 8 year old going on his first school residential!
