When did you last have soup

I think about two weeks ago I had an instant soup. They're okay but they are so salty and watery - i.e. in lacking in flavour, not "thin" - that they don't feel like "proper" soup. Can't remember when I last had proper soup.

Think I might make some cock-a-leekie this week.

When did you last have soup?

Lunchtime today. Cauliflower Cheese by Yorkshire Provender, its the only soup I ever have at the moment.

For lunch today. I made spiced parsnip and cauliflower soup and took it over to my friend’s to share with her

Today! In fact, every day this week as I’ve just had throat surgery so it’s all I can manage at the moment 😂 thankfully I love soup.

Homemade minestrone soup for lunch today (and for dinner last night).

DH would eat his favourite harissa butter bean and tomato soup every day if I made it for him. I don't like it as much as him as I make it once a month.

DS loves loaded potato soup. Basically cheese sauce thinned with stock, add potatoes and boil until cooked, serve with fried bacon bits. Delicious.

About three hours ago - a bacon, lentil and winter veg soup which I'd prepped over the weekend. Unfortunately there was no homemade bread left to go with it, slathered in lightly salted butter - it could have done with that. I have soup pretty frequently through late autumn to early spring. Last week I had homemade chicken soup on a couple of days as my office lunch.

An hour ago.. homemade scotch broth.

Last week had Waitrose fresh cream of mushroom. Usually make mushroom or broccoli and Stilton from scratch, keep lumps of left over Stilton in the freezer for when I make soup. Just drop one in and allow it to melt down. Love the idea of soup with a toastie PP. Will give that a go.

I make soup a couple of times a week. Last pot on Saturday was spicy lentil.

Last week. Didn't make it myself. Yorkshire Provender Chicken and Veg. It's like real soup.

We had homemade vegetable and lentil soup. I make a big pot full every other week and freeze it. Handy for those evenings when we can't be bothered to cook. Usually served with sourdough or some pan fried toasted sandwiches which contain millions of calories but are totally worth it.

I had kapuśniak (sourkraut soup with carrots, turmeric and marjoram). My grandad said that during WWII this soup saved many people from suffering scurvy due to high cut C content (plus great for your gut bacteria!)

Lunchtime today, curried cauliflower
