Your Birthday month

Do you like it?
Would you prefer another if you'd had a choice?
A few January born in my family and they categorically say it's the worst!
November babies aren't very keen on theirs either.
They say either side of December is not good as obviously everything is geared towards, and dominated by Christmas.

I'm July, which is fine by me now but I remember not being happy as a teenager as I was obviously one of the youngest in the school year, and the last to do everything - especially the most important driving lessons and passing your test!

Mine is September. It always used to piss me off when I was a kid, in colouring books etc my birthday was always 'back to school' themed!

MrsMoastyToasty · 28/01/2025 18:44

I would like a March birthday, just after the clocks go forward an hour. My birthday is in October and it's so depressing when it's dark at 5pm.
I wouldn't have a May birthday. We have 11 family members with birthdays then.

CandyCane457 · 28/01/2025 19:00

Mine is April which I really like. Spring is coming, people have renewed energy and are always up for doing fun things to help celebrate my birthday. Also I’m a teacher and it can often fall in the Easter holidays which is even better!

Mine is Midsummer’s Day, perfect for me, as I love the summer.

Arlanymor · 28/01/2025 19:11

Happy birthday to all the ‘today’ birthdays!

Mine is end of Feb and I wouldn’t change it - sure the weather often isn’t great, but spring is just around the corner, flowers are starting to come out. It’s rugby season, a few days before my patron saint’s day, and as the shortest month it means I get paid sooner! Plus I always take the day off work now, and just spend it doing what I want.

Crochetpenguin · 28/01/2025 19:13

Early May. Love it especially when it falls on May Day bank holiday. Weather always seems nice too.

Ruslandgirl · 28/01/2025 19:14

Mine is in early April. The beginning of spring. Such a hopeful optimistic time of year. I love it.

tedibear · 28/01/2025 19:14

I'm early October and yes it's too close to Christmas for me 🤣 I don't like it. I think April to Aug wld be my preference.

I think December or January birthday wld be the worst. My mum wld say January as she says she def gets gifts that she thinks have either been regifted or cheap in the sale.

edwinbear · 28/01/2025 19:15

Mine is May. It’s perfect. I was born on the early May bank holiday so there’s a long weekend I can use to celebrate. The weather is usually lovely, nobody is away on holiday.

DH is January, he hates it. I try and make it special but he’s not usually feeling it. Neither am I to bd honest but I try!

Sassybooklover · 28/01/2025 19:16

I'm early November. I don't mind my birthday being in November. The only minus is that the clocks have gone back, and daylight is lacking!!

ZiaMcnab · 28/01/2025 19:35

My birthday is in mid-January, and I loved it as a child and while in education: I was relatively old in the school year (one of the first to drive, drink legally etc!) and friends were always around (I was lucky all my mock exams happened in December). I hate it with an absolute passion now, though! When I first left education, everyone was always too skint to do anything in January, then, as I got a bit older, everyone seemed to be doing dry January and now it's either that or they're away skiing (alright for some!). And I've had quite a few birthdays that have basically been cancelled due to bad weather, even though I've lived in London for 20 years now.

My sister has a June birthday and I'm so jealous of her! I don't have DCs of my own but, having said all that, I don't think I would have tried to avoid a January birth date if I had any, mainly because conceiving can be hard enough without adding that extra pressure but also because it is quite nice having a January birthday when you're young. Several of my friends' kids (ages 8 to 13) have January birthdays and are all very happy with it so far.

awaynboilyurheid · 28/01/2025 19:45

January birthday and hate it! Growing up no one had any money , the weather was usually snowy or at least dark and freezing cold, I don’t really like it much better now it’s suddenly upon us right after New Year so no run up to it I’m usually remember oh yes it’s my birthday, it’s a real anti climax!

Both my children have summer month birthdays and that was great! Parties were easy, bouncy castles , games outside etc My husbands birthday is July and we’ve been away on holiday for his birthday on several occasions but I’ve never had a birthday on holiday! Yes I’d defiantly move it at least a couple of months along.

I'm April which is perfect 😊

Me too.

Fab, isn't it!

Spring springing.
Blossom out and easter chocolate 🥳

greyandorange · 28/01/2025 20:02

Never liked my September birthday but hard pushed to explain why.

Mine are December (sorry DS) and the penultimate day of July (DD.) I was a little bit worried about a summer born being at a disadvantage but her being a girl has helped in that respect.

twiddleit · 28/01/2025 20:06

August born here.

Good bits (summer, nice weather, holidays), bad bits (no friends around for parties, youngest in year)

Wouldn't swap it though, I'm a Leo and definitely the best sign of the zodiac 😂

spacepies · 28/01/2025 20:11

Im a december 23.
Could not care either never bothered with my birthday from around 12 onwards i dont do xmas either not done it in years.

Ilovelowry · 28/01/2025 20:13

Mine is valentines day. Sadly this means everyone remembers it. I hate the pressure from birthdays and choose not to mark them if I possibly can.

Loved it when I was a child though, there were always hearts and chocolates and cakes available! I had a heart shaped cake for many years.

ForeverTipsy · 28/01/2025 20:14

I'm early May and love it as usually around the time of a Bank Hol weekend.

Both my dc are January, as was my late mum. My mum hated her early Jan birthday with a passion - everyone broke and miserable, nobody wanted to go out to celebrate or indulge in nice food and drink as detoxing after Christmas etc

My dc are older now but they like their birthdays being January. I've always tried to focus on the positives; January sales so get bargains with birthday money/get more gifts from us parents as we pick stuff up in the sales. One has had a white birthday and played in the snow. Youngest dc is an introvert and loves winter, cosying up and no pressure to do a big party. They like stuff like Laserquest/mini golf/bowling so can do that with friends and not worry if the weather is going to be nice like in the summer when people plan BBQs.

Only annoying thing for me was getting birthday party invites out before school broke up for Christmas, then chasing rsvp's as soon as we're back!

Happy birthday @Rowgtfc72 @T4phage @FeetZelet 🥳 🎉💐🎂

Quite a few January birthdays on here!

😁 first time I’ve had that offer in a few years. Happing Birthday to all of us💐💐💐

Titasaducksarse · 28/01/2025 20:23

February...shit month.
The January pay packet is still taking a hit from Christmas then you've the bank that is Valentine's Day which makes every restaurant, air b n b , hotel etc exaggerate their prices.
I never bother going away or even a meal for my mid Feb birthday unless it's a big one now

AffIt · 28/01/2025 20:24

Middle of April, which I think is brilliant: spring is springing, days are longer, but the year is still young and full of possibilities!

Sockmate123 · 28/01/2025 20:27

May and I Love it ❤️

HÆLTHEPAIN · 28/01/2025 20:30

January for me and I love it. It brightens up a dull month.

AccidentallyWesAnderson · 28/01/2025 20:33

End of January here and I love it, the end of a depressing month and everyone has usually just been paid for the first time in what seems like forever so is always up for a drink/night out regardless of whether it's my birthday or not. Suits me 😂.
