I’ve on day 6 of a cold and very bored.

our ranged from burnt orange, to amber, to under to pure beige. With a contrast of white.

m&s CTM, Mango chutney, Nan, dal basmati rice.

I’m not proud but I’ve been making home made nourishing soups all week with a rainbow to nourish us and well fuck it.

We had chilli with jacket potatoes so pretty brown and beige

I wouldn't count either of our meals as actual beige food though!

Blingismything · 05/01/2025 10:22

M&S Cornish Cruncher bake with baguette so very beige.

TotallyTwisted · 05/01/2025 10:23

Extremely beige - chicken fried rice and prawn crackers.

shellyleppard · 05/01/2025 10:24

Tea and toast, slightly brown?? Wasn't feeling very hungry last night. Youngest son had a pizza, eldest one chicken salad sub roll

sueelleker · 05/01/2025 10:25

Fry-up, so hash browns, sausages, bacon and mushrooms. Also poached eggs and fried tomatoes. Everything except eggs cooked in the air fryer, and they were poached in my Instant Pot.

Wishihadanalgorithm · 05/01/2025 10:27

Chicken fajitas so the only thing beige was the wrap. There was red and yellow in the peppers/onions and red and green in the guac and salsa.

The chicken must have been a bit beige?

NancyBellaDonna · 05/01/2025 10:34

Roasted mushrooms and cheesy polenta - very brown and yellowish brown.

VodkaCola · 05/01/2025 10:38

I was feeling very fed up of party type food so had a ham sandwich and a pile of lettuce, spinach, watercress, peppers and spring onions.

I'm definitely ready to return to ordinary meals again.

Istilldontlikeolives · 05/01/2025 10:39

I thought you were referring to my cup of tea.

marmaladeandpeanutbutter · 05/01/2025 10:39

Red Thai cod curry.

marmaladeandpeanutbutter · 05/01/2025 10:40

(Using frozen cod, Thai red paste and coconut milk, so quick and simple. Added peas to it).

BestIsWest · 05/01/2025 10:41

It was very beige - chicken, pineapple and coconut curry with pilau rice followed by cheesecake. And I had terrible indigestion afterwards. There were some green and red chillies and some fresh coriander in the curry so a tiny bit of colour.

Randomontheinternet25 · 05/01/2025 10:45

Leftover homemade half an hour vegan curry it was delicious

GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER · 05/01/2025 10:47

A substantial mulligatawny soup - lots of veg and rice, plus half a chopped apple and plenty of leftover turkey out of the freezer. Curry powder and chicken stock cubes - lovely and warming, not at all beige.

AliasGrape · 05/01/2025 10:48

None of these are exactly what I think of as ‘beige food’ - on the other hand we had fishfinger sandwiches (on oven bottom muffins) so a proper beige tea.

To ease my guilt on the beigeness we had some veggie sticks (carrot, cucumber and celery) and cherry tomatoes with it, but still not my finest hour especially considering lunch was eating up the leftover cheese, pate, crackers, pickles, crisps etc Chucked a bit of apple and a few grapes in there but still!

In desperate need of a big food shop, but going to try to eke what we have out until tomorrow as I hate food shopping on a Sunday it’s always just dregs with really short dates.

Bjorkdidit · 05/01/2025 10:53

And here's me thinking 'beige food' is that which is breadcrumbed, battered or pastry not actual meals like curry, fried rice or fajitas.

Nannyfannybanny · 05/01/2025 10:55

Homemade cauliflower cheese,so almost white really, but pretty healthy.

2dogsandabudgie · 05/01/2025 10:57

I always thought beige food referred to UPF like chicken nuggets, chicken dippers, alphabites, potato waffles, that type of thing.

Cocolapew · 05/01/2025 10:59

Salted chilli chicken, noodles and egg fried rice, looked pretty beige tbh.

That's what we had with jacket potato.

saraclara · 05/01/2025 11:00

I love my veg, so my plate is almost never beige. Not a boast, just a genuine food texture and taste preference. Yesterday was cod fillet (lightly dusted, so beige) new potatoes (brown) but lots of tenderstem broccoli and green beans.

I'm not a health nut, but even if I have a bowl of brown (spag bol?) I have to have a bit of salad or veg to add some crispy freshness, or it just feels claggy.

liveforsummer · 05/01/2025 11:01

Not beige at all really but very pork heavy - gammon joint, pigs in blankets, pork stuffing balls. Balanced out with lots of veg though and cauli cheese. Probably go for a beige tea tonight

CarolDunne · 05/01/2025 11:01

Home made chips in the air fryer and burgers

It was very much a comfort food night

devilspawn · 05/01/2025 11:05

Roast dinner here, still eating through Christmas turkey. So lots of colourful veg and some stuffing but everything else brown/beige.
