I’ve on day 6 of a cold and very bored.

our ranged from burnt orange, to amber, to under to pure beige. With a contrast of white.

m&s CTM, Mango chutney, Nan, dal basmati rice.

I’m not proud but I’ve been making home made nourishing soups all week with a rainbow to nourish us and well fuck it.

Not very, well curry was reddy beige but had green beans, fish,

Fenellapitstop · 05/01/2025 11:12

Irish stew and dumplings, only a touch of green and orange from the peas and carrots

suki1964 · 05/01/2025 11:16

Chilli prawn pasta with peppers, mushrooms and spinach to give a bit of colour and much needed veg

ThatLimeCat · 05/01/2025 11:17

I thought you meant my cup of tea and it was indeed beige, I like it strong but milky.

We had sausages, potato salad and garden salad (using up family BBQ food), so boring but colourful.

Giggorata · 05/01/2025 11:21

Quite beige but home made - macaroni cheese with cubed gammon and cherry tomatoes.
I forgot to stir in some crushed frozen spinach, as I normally do which might have healthed it up a bit.

I love my veg, so my plate is almost never beige. Not a boast, just a genuine food texture and taste preference. Yesterday was cod fillet (lightly dusted, so beige) new potatoes (brown) but lots of tenderstem broccoli and green beans.

I'm not a health nut, but even if I have a bowl of brown (spag bol?) I have to have a bit of salad or veg to add some crispy freshness, or it just feels claggy.

Same here under normal circumstances. I’d usually do a coleslaw with a lime and chill and peanut dressing for beside a (home made) curry. Or a veg curry side or put some spinach in the curry…

but last night was fucki it beige food as I’m very full of cold and knackered. I know an omelette would have been better for us….

Last night, halloumi and orzo bake consisting of:
Red onions
Cherry tomatoes
Red peppers
Halloumi
Pesto
Orzo

Not beige at all!

But tonight it's French onion soup with cheesy bread, so pretty beige!

Gettingbysomehow · 05/01/2025 12:33

Stir fry so mostly green, red and orange no beige.

notprincehamlet · 05/01/2025 12:38

Baked potato, bread and beans - beige with a side of orange

Smokesandeats · 05/01/2025 12:45

We had proper beige food last night with fishfingers, oven chips and baked beans. There was no pretence of any home cooked meal being eaten here!

Enko · 05/01/2025 12:49

Sick with an awful cold and temperature of 37.9 so dinner was scrambled.eggs and ciabatta bread..i.did stick some basil leaf.on the ciabatta bread to give some colour. But very beige.

TiredEyesToday · 05/01/2025 12:50

Beige food is like, sausage rolls, chicken goujons, onion rings, potato wedges, breadcrumbed… stuff… tho isn’t it? We do like a beige buffet here from time to time - but for us it’s like, frozen party food, not a curry?

BusyPoster · 05/01/2025 12:52

Frozen battered cod, oven chips, peas and a salad plus ketchup, salad cream and mayo, it was so good.

JaninaDuszejko · 05/01/2025 12:52

We had steak, baked potatoes and salad. We don't eat much UPF.

DustyMaiden · 05/01/2025 12:55

Korean BBQ pork rice and stir fried veg.

UnstableEquilibrium · 05/01/2025 12:58

We're eating up the leftovers.

I had plain white pasta with loads of grilled vegetables left over from a takeaway, so not too bad on average: 4 different types and colours of veg.
DS had plain white pasta with leeks, sardines and olive oil. Visually beige but high in nutrients.
DH had left over New Year's Eve Casserole scooped up with amazingly beige supermarket wraps. Brown rather than beige but with huge quantities and varieties of spices, which the Zoe guys would approve of.

AhBiscuits · 05/01/2025 12:59

Beige and served in a basket. We were bowling.

Shesnotfromroundhere · 05/01/2025 12:59

Pretty colourful actually.

Baked stacked tortillas with filling of mashed beans, rainbow peppers, tomato salsa, loads of spices, and layered with home made tomato Enchilada sauce which was also poured on top of it all...then sprinkled liberally with lurid orange "cheddar" cheese, melted.

Side salad cole slaw--cabbage with green kale, carrots, red peppers.

Zimunya · 05/01/2025 13:02

Home made curry (red), on a base of kale, with onion and tomato chopped on top. But this is not always the case!

BeachHutsAndDeckchairs · 05/01/2025 13:05

Jacket spuds, half a tonne of butter and a tonne of cheese.

BobbyBiscuits · 05/01/2025 13:12

Chicken strips and chips. Excessively beige. I did have some lettuce, cucumber and peppers as well though!

fussychica · 05/01/2025 13:14

A very wholesome homemade beef stew with potato, carrots, butternut squash, parsnips and barlotti beans, so very orangey brown. Lovely.
Paler tonight, geeen and white, baked cod with fine green beans and broccoli.

SockFluffInTheBath · 05/01/2025 13:16

We had a rainbow. Smug.

It was domino’s pizza 🤣

murasaki · 05/01/2025 13:17

Chicken Alfredo lasagna, so pretty beige. A bit of baby spinach for the non beige bit.

StressedQueen · 05/01/2025 13:17

We had mushroom and bacon pie with mash which I think is pretty healthy in our house
