Have you bought anything in the sales?

I wasn't planning on buying anything at all but I've somehow managed to snag a wool coat online M&S half price

It was out of stock anytime I checked until this morning. I woke early & had a look on my phone & it had restocked & i managed to get it!

I'm delighted as it will be an excellent coat for work & I have been on the lookout for ages for one suitable for the office.

I've also fallen in love with a dress someone posted on style & beauty but it's full price & too expensive so I'm resisting it. For now....

Did anyone else get anything nice?

Nope

username299 · 31/12/2024 14:13

A new sofa. It had £500 off.

PollyannaWhittier · 31/12/2024 14:15

I bought a nightie in Marks's sake yesterday (God I'm turning into my Nanna !)

And some reduced-to-clear chocolate Grin

TheWholeMealBaby · 31/12/2024 14:19

A duck in the shower ornament for my bathroom, some new bedding and 8 new mugs (they all match, yay!).

foxyfoxedfox · 31/12/2024 14:28

Bagged some half-price Tripp suitcases which I’m delighted about. Also got DH a lovely sweater in the Fat Face sale along with some other small bits.

RainbowZebraWarrior · 31/12/2024 14:31

Candles. Quite a few from the St Eval sale with 70% off (almost sold out now) and a couple from the Isle of Skye Candle Company which might be my new favourites.

Wallabyone · 31/12/2024 14:39

I've ordered a skirt in the Oliver Bonas sale, and some crocs for one of my children. I've been so ill I've hardly left the house since Boxing Day 😭

UtterlyOtterly · 31/12/2024 14:44

I went to the retail park yesterday to buy some small DIY bits. Came back with a rug, 40% off 🙂

Sprogonthetyne · 31/12/2024 14:44

Ice skates for DD. They were only £11 (down from 60) and will save us £4 in skate hire each time she goes.

Microgal · 31/12/2024 14:55

No…I hate sales to be honest. Most of it is crap.

zingally · 31/12/2024 14:56

I went and ordered a new settee today. Not sure it counts as those furniture shops seem to have permanent sales on!
I stopped off at a parade of shops near me on the way home, and got 7 boxes of Christmas cards for half price for next year!

twiddlingthumbs69 · 31/12/2024 15:03

Bought a Campomaggi bag from Hoopers. Was £700 reduced to £400

TooMuchDontCare · 31/12/2024 15:06

I love to buy clothes in sales from shops that are generally on the expensive side like me+em, toast, ba&sh, maje, Sandro etc. I've got my eye on a couple of things but they either don't have my size or they're not reduced yet.

I never go into shops after Christmas as I've no tolerance for it.

Just before Christmas I got €1,100 worth of clothes for under €500 & i was very chuffed with that as they are from one of my favourite brands are are things I will get a lot of wear from & will love ❤️

Oh @twiddlingthumbs I bought a Campomaggi bag in last years sales & i adore it! I'd seen it on the Plumo website but I'm in the EU & it was far too dear in sterling. I saw the makers name & tracked it down on another website & paid a fraction of the cost.

It's v beautiful & much admired whenever I use it

Mines small brown leather with studs & a chain strap which can be doubled to make it short or left long for crossbody

a cashmere jumper

fromthevault · 31/12/2024 15:14

I bought a Toast wool-cashmere workshirt (from the men's collection) which will hopefully be very versatile and useful. £100 off so I was happy enough with that. It's not arrived yet though.

However, I'm on a 2025 no-buy from tomorrow, so that's me done!

MooseAndSquirrelLoveFlannel · 31/12/2024 15:17

I usually do, but haven't been able to find anything I like this year. The sales just all seem full of the crap that no one wants.

AutoP1lot · 31/12/2024 15:21

Just this jumpsuit. Not a massive discount and wasn't expensive to begin with. But the fabric and fit are lovely, I wore it Christmas Day and am delighted with it.

I've ordered some shoes and a coat from Vinted and received boots & 2 dresses as Christmas gifts so I've got plenty and mustn't look at buying more clothes until Spring now.

KittenPause · 31/12/2024 15:23

I usually always buy in the sales but I don't really need or want anything at the moment so although I've had a cursory look nothings taken my fancy yet

jollygreenpea · 31/12/2024 15:26

I called into the garden centre earlier and got some baubles, I saved more than I spent.
I hadn't intended on buying them but they are lovely and will be used next year.

CandyCane5 · 31/12/2024 15:39

Plenty of hand soap / body washes. I don't know why but it's a bit of an obsession I have. I'm not going to buy anymore until I've REALLY ran out
A hair dryer
Some clothes for DC

slightlydistrac · 31/12/2024 15:41

I bought a calendar today for £2, a hot water bottle & cover for a fiver and two rolls of wrapping paper at £1 each. All half price.

Not exactly the last of the big spenders, am I?

NordicwithTeen · 31/12/2024 15:46

Struggling to find anything that doesn't still feel full price, as everything seems so expensive full price that the sale price doesn't feel like any discount.

I think I feel quite saturated with clothes and "stuff" and can't fully justify anything.

thefedupdunlop · 31/12/2024 15:49

A new bed, thanks to my DH wrecking of current bed on NYE

PassAggJumper · 31/12/2024 15:50

Yes, but it was stuff I needed and would have bought anyway so I'm chuffed! New roller blinds for the kids bedrooms (theirs both broke) for a tenner each down from £20, and a new oilcloth table cover which had 20% off I think, both Dunelm.
Oh and I didn't technically need a Christmas oilcloth, but I didn't have one already and it was 50% off and I LOVE it.
That's the only sale stuff I've bought.
