What's the longest you've been without a haircut?

I've just realised I haven't had my hair cut for a VERY long time. Does it matter though?

@rosemole nope! He sits down beside or opposite you to talk about your hair and you can face away from the mirror

7 years! DD is 19 and has had 3 haircuts in her life. She is constantly complimented on her gorgeous hair

18 years is the longest I’ve been without cutting my hair, I’ve also had periods of 9 years and 5 years where I haven’t cut it.

I can count on my fingers the amount of times I’ve been to have it done professionally. I really want it to look nice and I really would like to be the type of person who goes regularly but I’m just not sure how to make that happen. It’s so incredibly expensive and I’m not sure what exactly I can ask them to do to it. It sometimes looks nice when I come out but it lasts all of a day and then it’s back to normal and that money just can’t be justified. I don’t have enough experience of having it done to know how to ask for what I want or how to have enough to time and skill to style it every day. Lots of cash to feel a bit inept and disappointed.

Could you find a photo of someone online or in a magazine and take that and ask them to do it? Or just ask for a trim?

People go years?! If I did that I think it would be down to my ankles, it grows so fast!

I think the longest I've left it is 6 months.

I have been able to sit on mine. That's a sign to get it cut
