Thanks to the Simpsons, cromulent.

JingleB · 10/12/2024 09:40

Words I find fun to say rather than words whose meaning I like?

Serendipitous
Agapanthus
Hirsute
Crepuscular
Loquacious
Susurrate
Murmuration
Discombobulated
Recidivist

They are just rather satisfying to wrap your chops around.

One that I like because of the picture it creates in my mind - Dusk.

DebbieTheCat · 10/12/2024 11:30

Sorry I was waiting for dentist appointment and went in quicker than I thought I would - for once.

Any word! Just because you like saying it or you like the look of it.

I agree dusk is a nice one.

I've not heard of cromulent!

Mizzling, drizzling, Dawn, dusk, contentment, cosy

OhBling · 10/12/2024 11:35

Exquisite.

It is not really a word that sounds like what it is, but somehow,.... it does for me.

JingleB · 10/12/2024 12:22

I've not heard of cromulent!

It’s a word made up by the scriptwriters of a Simpson’s episode that caught on - because they were trying to make up a word that sounded plausible. It means adequate.

”The directions to the stadium were lacking but parking facilities were perfectly cromulent.”

DebbieTheCat · 10/12/2024 12:42

Thank you @JingleB 😊

I also like sachet.

FuckoffeeBeforeCoffee · 10/12/2024 13:31

@JingleB that's even better!

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 10/12/2024 14:07

I second 'outwith'
Also like concomitant, comingled (yes I know there is debate over one 'm' or two), and shrub.

FuckItItsFine · 10/12/2024 14:10

BarbaraHoward · 10/12/2024 14:12

RaininSummer · 10/12/2024 19:21

Mellifluous. Don't tend to have any reason to use it but a wonderful word.

EmotionalSupportBlanket · 10/12/2024 19:30

Phlebotomy, crepuscular, and petrichor are all lovely to say.

NewName24 · 10/12/2024 19:31
