These shoes were so popular in the 90s and early 00s, I can remember whole market stalls being was full of them! Some of the heels were absolutely enormous, like 6 inches plus 🤣 My best friend had the biggest ones available, how she didn’t break her neck I don’t know!

Yes but they weren't crazy high. I do remember having ones with a zip up the front in primary school!

Workingclasslass · 06/12/2024 19:46

Yes they were the rage

Yep! Had a pair of the second ones from the market.

IncessantNameChanger · 06/12/2024 19:51

Yes and big zig zags in the soles which you couldn't get the dog poop out of of.

HansHolbein · 06/12/2024 19:51

Oh gosh yes!

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 06/12/2024 19:51

Mummy would never have allowed it! Sensible court shoes every time 😳

SnowSnow · 06/12/2024 19:51

Yep I had them and they were so uncomfortable I had to change in to trainers to walk to and from school

Unskilledtopiary · 06/12/2024 19:52

I was just thinking of these shoes the other day! What a blast from the past.

Isitfridayyetsophie · 06/12/2024 19:53

Yes! I had Kickers, could barely walk in them!

supersonicginandtonic · 06/12/2024 19:53

Ha I loved these me and my sisters all had them.

FancyAReallyLongUsernameJustForAChange · 06/12/2024 19:54

I used to wear them to work in the 90s.

MugOfTee · 06/12/2024 19:55

Oh yes!

I remember going into Dolcis at the weekend with my pals, wistfully looking at a pair very similar ( not as high) I think they were £35. My mum said they were too expensive, which is fair.

I ended up getting a Saturday job and saved up for a month to buy them myself🥹

Edit: They were for school, in the late 90s

Combattingthemoaners · 06/12/2024 20:12

Haha! I had the second ones down. They are truly hideous but I thought I was the dog’s bollocks in them.

itsmylife7 · 06/12/2024 20:17

Originally worn in the 70s they were the hight of fashion.

My older sister had a pair I used to walk around the house in them.

Martymcfly24 · 06/12/2024 20:19

Loved them but I wouldn't wear them because I was really conscious of my height so I wore Mary Jane doc martens that I absolutely loved.

Sharptonguedwoman · 06/12/2024 20:23

These are 70s shoes. Nothing new under the sun.

Bagpuss2022 · 06/12/2024 20:24

I remember them but I didn’t wear them I was conscious about my height I was 5”7 at 11!
i wore flat black Rockport height of fashion on 1993 🤣

Berlinlover · 06/12/2024 20:24

I finished school in 1994 but I remember them well.

MrsSkylerWhite · 06/12/2024 20:26

They look like 70s shoes. Wasn’t allowed them (thank goodness, with hindsight).

InfoSecInTheCity · 06/12/2024 20:26

Yep, me and my best friend in year 5 went and bought ourselves a pair each using pocket money and birthday money we'd been saving up. Loved those shoes.

LittleBobbyDazzler · 06/12/2024 20:27

Yes! In bloody primary school as well, I dunno what my parents were thinking 😂
I do remember the heel breaking at school one day too and having to shuffle around for the rest of the day as I was too scared to tell the teacher as I broke it in the hallway during break when my friend was hallway monitor and I wasn't supposed to be in there and I was running away from the teacher coming to check on the monitors 🙈
Oh to have such problems again...

CrushingOnRubies · 06/12/2024 20:28

Yes but wasn't allowed them and by the time I was they were out of fashion. But I did have slightly similar and I was so happy

User1836484645R · 06/12/2024 20:28

Are they out of fashion now?

LigamentBandy · 06/12/2024 20:29

Bought from Dolcis shoe shop, which had a very particular smell ... Ooh and if super lucky a similar style in canvas for out of school ( black canvas with rubber toe and heel details)
