It's advent for the Playmobil people in our house...

...and so each day up until Christmas I'll be bringing you some festive scenes from Playmoland. Today Franziska and Heinz are putting up their Christmas decorations.

Renate and Dietrich buy some sweets for Johanna and Fritz.

Gerda buys a gingerbread heart. She is looking very festive in her Christmas jumper and reindeer antlers!

Gisela is at the market with Jutta, Kurt and Frieda. They spot some lanterns. "Please could we buy those?" asks Jutta. "They would be brilliant for when we go carol singing this week!"

Jutta chooses one with a star, Frieda one with a Christmas tree and Kurt one with a moon.

Matthias and Marta have bought popcorn for Emil and Franz. Marta fancies an apple herself.

Ooh, love a Christmas market! That one looks a much nicer experience than the real life ones - much less crowded!

Looks fun, especially Gerda's reindeer antlers. Is Apollo not about for one of those tasty hotdogs?

We had the local Silver Band playing in the bandstand in the park last weekend; it was wonderful.

What a charming market! Love the reindeer antlers and Christmas jumpers, love the lanterns, love all the foodstuffs which look delicious and aren't, as far as I can tell, overpriced.

I'm glad the playmo people have such gently inspiring and meaningful Christmas occasions. Nothing is too OTT - just cosy and happy.

@LIZS I suspect that Apollo's owners avoided sausagey temptation by not taking him to the market!

@NooNakedJacuzziness I'm not sure what's the most random set I have - will have to think about that one. Although sometimes I buy a set for particular items (e.g. a camping set which contained some kayaks I wanted for the Olympics, or a café because it contained a roast chicken!)

Oh I forgot to mention Matthias and Franz. I'm sure they added just the right finishing touch to the ambience.

The random set I bought this summer was the medical set with the lady with the prosthetic leg. Just in time for the Paralympics! I got very excited about that one.

What a festive occasion! A lot of Germanic-sounding folk in Lowbeach-on-Sea, adds to the authentic Christmas market vibe

I used to love playmobil when my children were small. I know we had the helicopter & that's all I can remember.

At the Christmas market Silke and Gustav are looking at the baked goods.

Gustav chooses a gingerbread heart that he can wear round his neck. He likes the Christmas tree design.

Geethika and Manav have taken Shreya to the market today. Shreya also chooses a gingerbread heart but she prefers the angel design.

Kazuo and Akira have bought some festive biscuits.
