...and so each day up until Christmas I'll be bringing you some festive scenes from Playmoland. Today Franziska and Heinz are putting up their Christmas decorations.

At the market there is a sled carousel. Kurt, Jutta and Frieda are having a ride.

I really want to go to that Christmas market!

FuzzyCaoraDhubh · 15/12/2024 09:17

Yay! Another day at the Christmas market! I really want to visit the baked goods stall and drink beer perhaps even on the carousel😄
Thank you @SoMuchToBits 🌟

Everyone always seems so happy and content in Playmoland! It’s just lovely to see.

Clabony · 15/12/2024 09:30

Those gingerbread hearts look amazing. It's great to see handmade goods for sale in the Christmas market. No tat here! I think we should put a review on Trip advisor.

Definitelytheothersideof40 · 15/12/2024 09:33

Love the Christmas market, especially the gingerbread. I have fond memories of good German gingerbread from a long time ago.

FuzzyCaoraDhubh · 15/12/2024 09:43

Now I have a hankering for gingerbread.
I wonder if it's easy to make 🤔

JewelleryCat · 15/12/2024 09:44

I’d like a gingerbread heart and to have a ride on the carousel

SoMuchToBits · 15/12/2024 11:30

Thank you all! There will be something different tomorrow. Xmas Smile

I would like to visit this Christmas Market, everything looks so good.

How was your concert SoMuchToBits ?

niadainud · 15/12/2024 11:37

Is this computer-generated or do you have an entire house full of Playmobil products?

SoMuchToBits · 15/12/2024 11:38

Good thanks @EarthyMamma . This evening I'm playing in a concert rather than being in the audience. Xmas Smile

I hope this evening’s concert goes well!

SoMuchToBits · 15/12/2024 11:46

Thank you @JingleB ! @niadainud it's all real! I have already posted a photo of my Playmo shed I think. Also if it were computer generated I think the photography would be a lot better! Xmas Grin

Wow!! So you have thousands of accessories? How do you do all the background stuff? Are you an artist or designer? What first gave you the idea? And how do you find the time?

So many questions!

Westfacing · 15/12/2024 12:28

I love Silke's polar bear sweater - very hygge!

SoMuchToBits · 15/12/2024 12:37

The backgrounds mainly I just use different fabrics - a sky print, a white sheet for snow, a grassy print for grass etc. Occasionally there will be a Playmo set with an actual printed background (e.g. the Hansel and Gretel, or the royal ball, which came from a Playmo advent calendar set).

I set the scenes up on my dining table, the sky is wrapped round some sheets of foam board, so can be propped up.

I'm not in any way an artist or designer! My jobs have always been in healthcare. Originally some of the Playmo belonged to my ds as a child (he's now 24). He loved it and had quite a few sets. One year we decided to set up a "general election" scene (when there was a real one taking place). I posted about it on here, and lots of people commented, and Norman the Foreman was duly elected Prime Minister.

The next year we staged a royal wedding (on the same day as William and Kate's). But at this stage we just set things up on our living room floor, no backdrops. But as ds got older I started creating my own scenes, did another 2 royal weddings in 2018 etc.

I'm pretty much retired, so do have time but also I don't post stuff all the time. I think this year I've just done a small winter holiday in February, a PlaymOlympics this summer, and this one. Although the PlaymOlympics was a massive project! Xmas Grin

Well I must have missed the early ones, but I have been here for a couple of Christmas ones, an election one and the olympics one. I really look forward to them (and like to count up the falling overs😄)!
Edit - or is it fallings over?🤔

SoMuchToBits · 15/12/2024 12:44

I think most of them are still around, except the Plexit one (I posted it in chat, which in 2016 still disappeared after 90 days). Some of the other earlier ones got moved to Classics.

VexedofVirginiaWater · 15/12/2024 13:10

Ooh I will go and have a search on Classics.
