Whatever your political leaning, it's a sad day for politics. Sad to hear Gordon Brown just now on radio 4 describe him as a Colossus then to hear that he died in a care home with Alzheimer's. Hard to imagine.
Still remembered who people were to the end and kept his warmth and friendliness.

I love that. I bet he would have been an interesting person to meet.

That makes it even worse. If he was a trained boxer he should have known better. Can't believe that people think it's OK for a politician to punch someone.

He had his faults but I do think the comment he made about his wife taking a car 100yards was funny. He said that she had just had her hair done!!

The poster who was called right wing is right wing. It's not a comment because she disagrees (on what? This isn't an argument thread). It's because of other things she's said elsewhere. And why do you seem to see it as a criticism? It's an observation.

The bloke did deserve it, I'd have smacked him as well.

A two-year affair with his Secretary was hardly a ‘wobble’.

Today, he would have been cancelled, for sure.

He did deserve it. I'm saying it too. In fact, the general consensus at the time as well as the law came to the same conclusion.
