Snowing here in West Yorkshire, big fluffy flakes, due to snow all night.

To get snow you need clouds, clouds insulate. No clouds = colder weather with no snow.

In the UK, -4 degrees is not "too cold to snow". The terrible snow we had a few years ago which meant we couldn't leave the village, happened at -7 degrees and a feels like of -13.

"Too cold to snow" as a generic comment, makes little sense in this country.

@BashfulClam I understand what you mean as sometimes I tell my family it's going to snow as the air temperature suddenly seems a bit warmer than usual and you can almost "smell" it in the air. My family think it's weird but I'm generally right.

It's Surrey and it's cold and wet - my feet are freezing so the electric blanket's on!

It's snowing here again❄️. It snowed until about 3pm yesterday, but didn't really stick, we got about 5cm in undisturbed places and they shut all the schools before lunch, if they'd waited it would have been fine though.

First frost of the year on the south coast, currently -1.

Same here on the south west coast, frosty and currently -3. No snow forecast but some 'icy showers' this week.

Pouring rain in Surrey yesterday but today opened with bright sunshine and frost on the grass.

Snowing up the valley, higher up. But the North westerly wind is is strong and so cold biting. We had a hail storm earlier.

Same here! Big bloody flakes too! I’ve not been able to go out all week I’m done with it now and I’ve got a newborn. No neighbours and no one to share it with it’s pretty boring.

Forecast changed abruptly and we had snow this morning. Utter chaos on the roads, some poor people stuck for hours and some roads still impassable. Very pretty from indoors, glad I didn’t need to go out.

It says it’s on its way here too, thankfully I haven’t got to go anywhere this evening but my crazy husband has just gone out for a run!

Had to go out this evening to teach. I got in the car, turned the heater to demist but to no effect and then realised that the window was iced over.

So, I got out the deicer, squirted the window and voilà, instant clarity - until I made the mistake of using the screenwash, which promptly froze on the window!

Note to self: buy winter-grade screenwash tomorrow.

Woke up to Narnia! DH now in the bad books, as I asked him to put my outdoor Xmas lights up yesterday and he said he'd do it tomorrow. 😬
