I can honestly recommend it. It’s a breath of fresh air. It’s like what Twitter was like to begin with. It’s not got the nasty toxic right wing people on it like Twitter has and most people have left Twitter in massive numbers and gone over to blue sky it is actually designed by the people that set up Twitter to begin with.
. I am not very technological minded, but I am finding my way around it. It seems to be very good that you can have different feeds. Something they said about yesterday on a video I watched about trying to stop the algorithms from giving you wrong things it could’ve done previously.. more about community anyway I just thought I’d wonder if anybody else was on it?

Twitter was becoming an echo chamber full of far right agenda opinions and trolls. So if atm blue sky does not have them on it then it will be very refreshing

I left twitter a couple of weeks ago, I hate it now, it's toxic. Joined Blue Sky yesterday and I hope it stays this way but I doubt it. People will spoil it they always do.

I'll look into it. My Twitter feed used to be very nice as I only followed people aligned with a hobby. For some reason I'm now getting extremist content. I've no idea what happened.

The new apps are usually nice to start with until all the toxic people arrive. There's too many apps to keep up with for me.

I remember this time last year everyone was saying Threads was going to replace Twitter.
It went well.

I didn’t until the other day it started off by jack can’t remember surname who set up twitter. It looks like twitter and has very similar stuff to twitter but it’s more community so you can see what your friend likes who they follow etc

Threads wasn’t as easy type face but literally blue sky blew up with millions leaving twitter even guardian has gone in there and quit X

I’ve been on it for months. It goes through spurts of activity but as yet, doesn’t have much community.

They’ll have to be very careful to manage things if masses of people start moving over, or it’ll quickly be a toxic mess.

Yeah but companies did that with Threads as well. My CEO told us to open a Threads account and shut down X. It wasn't a bad idea but it didn't go anywhere. Millions of people had high hopes in the early days then it stagnated.

So I'll join but I'll believe the hype when it's still big in 6 months.

Nah, I can't be arsed getting used to something new. I just unfollow anyone who pops up on my feed trilling about how it's soooo toxic and they're off to blue sky (I mean, they're off so might as well get rid) and eventually when I stop seeing interesting stuff then I'll stop looking.

Whatever happened to Mastodon? That was the one they were all threatening to leave for at one point.

Hmm. I did a search on Bluesky of the word "mumsnet" and the amount of degrading, abusive and foul posts that followed makes me think that that "Be Kind" brigade have already moved over there.

Plus searches of well known TwiX names prove that people have purposely 'stolen' these names to stop people moving over with their followers.

X is the town square. I don’t think it will be replaced as it’s where all the breaking stories are.

Yes, I've been on it over a year now for work, but it's hugely taken off in the last couple of months. First with Twitter banned in Brazil and then with the Trump election, and Musk's support for him.
And then I think as of today, all Twitter content can be scraped for training AI unless you opt out, which has led to another bump of people.

I've gained a thousand followers in just under a week, unlike Twitter most of them don't seem to be bots 😂
