I had absolutely no idea what was going on in the ad until I read this thread.

Who did the dogs bouncing on the trampoline I loved that one !

Me, its the best one ever.

PlumpHobbit · 14/11/2024 20:48

OK I've just re watched the not the real John Lewis advert now I'm not having to not cry in the office and am properly sobbing at it!

It is basically Up (the intro of which is also guaranteed to make me cry!)

Love the song too

Mainoo72 · 14/11/2024 20:53

I really like it. I’ve got sisters & it made me well up. It isn’t that difficult to understand or follow the story.

summer555 · 15/11/2024 04:42

I thought it was ok but was very confused at who was who. It reminded me a bit of the original ad ages ago when they played Always a Woman and had the woman growing up.

My favourites were Moz the monster, the man on the Moon and the fire breathing dragon with the Bastille song. All more Christmassy. Didn't like the animals (shitting) on the trampoline, quite liked the snowman and the hare. Last year's song was quite catchy but a weird storyline.

I don’t mind the Boots one. I consider myself a feminist but am not bothered about the lazy man/woman doing all the work trope. It still needs pointing out sadly.

I like again that it’s women front and centre and the man (Santa) is so irrelevant you don’t see him in focus.

I especially like that it’ll have the gammons frothing at it.
