Which is the best ready made lasagne in your opinion. I want to compile a spreadsheet and rank them

Thanks @TwattyMcFuckFace (feels a bit rude tagging you in this) that's been added to the list

I used to make a lazy baked pasta version where you put your bolognaise ragu into a tallish casserole and push uncooked cannelloni tubes down vertically into the ragu - think Sellafield nuclear fuel rod style - then pile your cheese sauce on top. That would probably work well in a slow cooker, although the top wouldn’t be crispy.

You have invented... the Lasagne Mattress! 😯

(Genius) 🧠

That sounds vaugely educational so perhaps I could persuade my eldest DSD to make it

Ha ha at Sellafield nuclear fuel rod style lasagne.

You can get the pasta evangelists one on Ocado. It's pricy but it's the most restaurant-y I've found.

MissHalloween · 04/11/2024 18:08

M&S, the most expensive one, my DC have done the full survey and have voted this one best by miles.

Jmaho · 04/11/2024 18:08

Sounds like I'm in the minority but I don't like the Chalie Bingham one. Far too sloppy and I don't like the greaseproof paper tray thing they all come in.
In my opinion the best is Co Ops finest or whatever their version of that is. In cardboard sleeve in foil tray.
But Aldis finest range (again whatever their version is called) is very nice too
I love M and S but don't like many of their ready meals, same goes with Sainsburys. M and S are always really garlic heavy but overall bland tasting

Lidl!

M&S The Best (is that the fancy one? The fancy one!)

I would have said this too, but Tom Kerridge has changed the recipe, and it's now not as good.
So I will say Charlie Bigham's.

teampacey · 04/11/2024 18:11

I'm pregnant and this is the best thread ever 😍😋

yorktown · 04/11/2024 18:11

Cook of course.
Charlie Bigham's is ok, I'd buy that if on offer.
No supermarket versions any good in my view, although I haven't had M&S for ages so can't remember it directly.

I am here mainly for the spreadsheet to see what I am missing.

Another vote for Cook

And another

And another

And yet another vote for Cook (both their meat lasagne and their vegetarian lasagne). And no rubbish in it!

Pastapenguin · 04/11/2024 18:22

Lasagne is one of those things worth making at home then freeze in giant portions so you have it available to microwave. I use a roasting tray and get 8 portions out of it. 🥸🥳

Missmarymack2 · 04/11/2024 18:22

The m&s best one weighs a tonne which puts me off. I like the m&s regular lasagna.

I’m following!

Had homemade lasagne tonight and rarely buy it ready made so interested in giving some a try to compare!

Try the M&S Lasagna al Forno, Tom Kerridge hasn't messed around with that one.
I find a lot of his recipe meals too greasy/oily.

Costco

How big is it?

I have done this and my son really appreciated having lasagna for the next few days. It didn't benefit me.

Redlorryyellowlorryblue · 04/11/2024 18:42

Cook

Georgyporky · 04/11/2024 18:45

Casa Giorgio Maiale

I was disappointed by the M&S Best one the other week. Didn't have any Mediterranean flavour to me, iyswim. More cottage pie flavours than Italian.

Definitely keen to try Cook again soon.

doodleschnoodle · 04/11/2024 19:09

I make one-pot sort of lasagne. You just cook the pasta sheets in the ragu and stick some cheese on top under the grill after. Kids love it and much easier than a normal lasagne. You can do it in slow cooker too.

lasagnelle · 04/11/2024 19:09

Where do I find the cook one please?
