Good Morning Mumsnet! What's everyone up to today?

I've just finished my first cuppa of the day, in my kitchen spot, with girl kitten curled up at my feet. Both of them have been fed, had a mad few minutes, and boy kitten's wandered off somewhere. My guess is dd1's bedroom.

We don't have a lot planned for today. Dd1's off to work at 1pm so will probably potter at getting ready & maybe do a bit more college work - if she has time when she gets up.

Dd2 has history homework to finish. The website glitched & submitted it incomplete so she's asked the teacher to re-set it so she can do it properly. She'll probably carry on writing revision notes too.

I plan to deep clean the bathroom, upload a few things to Vinted, and do a few things ready for work tomorrow. If there's time, I'll bake the second of three Christmas cakes, but bathroom & work stuff first.

We're having stew for tea, with a baguette to dunk & picallili on the side 😋 I forgot ingredients to try making my own picallili so hopefully Lidl will have some.

Tonight it'll be my usual Self-Care Sunday scrubby shower, followed by a couple of hours crochet. Then an early ish night ready for back to work in the morning 💤

What about all of you? 🙂

We're all still in our beds.
I'm sitting up and having a coffee. Everyone else is still fast asleep.
We will be having a lovely lazy Sunday.

FromCuddleLand · 03/11/2024 09:21

Eating porridge with currants, banana, honey and greek yogurt. And drinking coffee. DH still asleep, eldest DS still asleep. Youngest two DS watching shite on TV. Weather is grey. Kitchen is piled with last night's dishes and I have the lurgy. That is as far as we have got!

Shergill15 · 03/11/2024 09:23

Morning @lucysmam. DD has rugby this morning so just getting ready for that. When we get back she has homework to do and we'll probably pop round to see my Dad with his birthday cards etc. Then usual prep for the week to come - sorting uniform and sports kit etc. Need to order food shopping too. Will watch the Strictly results and aim for an early night I think

Zippedydodah · 03/11/2024 09:25

Good morning, it’s a quiet, dull-skied Sunday morning here, nothing much planned for today.
I have tidied around downstairs and carried on sorting my fabric and crafting stash, almost done. I’ve still got an IBS flare up so sitting very still with a hot water bottle hoping that the painkillers will kick in soon ☹️
The dog is pestering to go for a walk, DH will take her to the village once he’s ready…..I’ve never known anyone who can faff around achieving little/nothing like he can!
Stuffed chicken thighs with roasted potatoes etc for dinner, though I don’t feel like eating, then an afternoon reading if I don’t go back to bed. I will walk the dog later, I need some fresh air!

Iamnotaloggrip · 03/11/2024 09:26

I’m on the sofa having a coffee, waiting for Aldi to open so I can do the weekly shop. Will do an exercise class and change the beds when I get back. Not sure what’s for dinner yet but I’ll try to make some soup for the week. Hopefully a long soak in the bath I cleaned yesterday later!

Surely you’ll get some fresh air OP?!

GiraffeTree · 03/11/2024 09:28

DD has a netball match so I'm here to watch. DS2 playing football later and I'll go for a run. Then laundry and tidying and roast chicken for supper.

Makelikeatreeandleaf · 03/11/2024 09:30

Morning all, been awake for a while but still in bed reading the internet. Need to get up and do a tip run and (small) supermarket shop. Then home to do some school work. I will be finding some time this afternoon to read a bit of Nigel then jacket potatoes for tea, Strictly results and hair washing before back to school tomorrow.

ladybirddotty · 03/11/2024 09:33

Good morning everyone ☺️

I teach so the first part of my day will be prepping for going back to work tomorrow. Then this afternoon I plan to see my ex's mum for a cuppa and then meeting my friend for dinner.

I've struggled massively with my anxiety being off work as it's the first time I've done it single and living alone but back into routine tomorrow! I think keeping busy will help

FayKnights · 03/11/2024 09:38

Morning @lucysmam and the Sunday gang!
I’m sitting on my bed with a cuppa looking at the piles of stuff that have accumulated from decluttering yesterday. I need to recycle and donate stuff, luckily we have those big pods near us for just that purpose.
Shopping is due soon and I’ll chuck on a slow cooker casserole so it’s ready for this evening after a nice long dog walk.

Have a good Sunday all!

BitOutOfPractice · 03/11/2024 09:39

@ladybirddotty well done on making it through that milestone.

quiet day here. Bit of cleaning, bit of work. Bit of lazing around. Going to the gym for a run and then a yoga class if I get off the waiting list and into The class. I’m currently 9th on the list so I suspect I will get in. Lots of people drop out last minute.

ladybirddotty · 03/11/2024 09:40

@BitOutOfPractice thank you for your kind words ☺️ I hope you enjoy your day!

My (late) dad has joined the chat! Wasn't expecting that.

Topsy44 · 03/11/2024 09:45

Good morning Lucysmam and All.

DD and I currently on the sofa, me with coffee and Mumsnet, DD playing her Switch. Need to summon up some energy shortly for showers and getting ready to go and see my elderly Mum for lunch. Brother and family are joining us too today so will be a good catch up.

Then home for the Strictly results and something comforting for tea. DD has an inset day tomorrow so have one more day to put off getting school and work stuff ready! Hope all have a lovely Sunday,

Kim82 · 03/11/2024 09:46

Good morning everyone and happy Sunday. I’ve been up on my own since 7.30am. Dd20 is at work and everyone else is still asleep (as I have typed this I can now hear dd10 moving around upstairs so she’s just woken up) I’ve put a load of washing on and just sat on the sofa drinking cups of tea.

Once everyone is awake we’re going to blitz the house between us all so it should hopefully only take an hour or so.

This afternoon I need to set some time aside to prep for an interview I have tomorrow and we also need to start packing for going away on Wednesday (just me and dh - yay!). I also need to iron dd10’s uniform for the week but that won’t take long.

Then tonight it’s pasta bolognese for tea, ensuring dd10 does her homework then showers and early to bed ready for the week ahead.

JingsMahBucket · 03/11/2024 09:47

Morning @lucysmam and everyone. It’s a bit of a slow morning here with the grey skies but I’m about to shower, eat breakfast, and head out the door to our monthly farmers market. On the way back home I’ll hit up some other grocery stores too.

The rest of the day will be some bare minimum cleaning because I can’t tackle it all today. I also have some writing to do today. Have a beautiful day everyone!

gingercat02 · 03/11/2024 09:49

End of HT here (booooooo!)
We have had a busy week, and DS and DH both now have colds, so it's a quiet day for the adults here. I'm going to my class shortly then an afternoon watching F1.
DS is going to the cinema and then out to the council fireworks with his friends before they are back at 6th Form tomorrow. Exams looming, so it will be a tough term.

PermanentTemporary · 03/11/2024 09:49

Good morning all... having second coffee and scrambled eggs with a podcast while dp sweeps out the shed. We made a fresh bed earlier so am really looking forward to bedtime. Dp has some friends coming over to game, so once they've arrived and chatted a bit I'm going to walk into town for some exercise and to buy some cards and stamps. Need to spend some time reading the book club book, we're meeting on Wednesday.

DilemmaDelilah · 03/11/2024 09:50

Good morning @lucysmam . DH brought me my breakfast in bed - a bacon sandwich and some toast and honey today. I'm still in bed but my feet are out - in preparation for leaping up to get going with things......

My youngest and her toddler are coming to stay for a few days on Thursday, so I need to clear up my office so that I can put the trundle bed in there. Toddler is having the spare room as it's easier to toddler-proof... daughter will be in the office but all her stuff can be in the spare room. Toddler is tall and strong and impossible to corral! We won't be able to put the trundle into the office until I finish work on Thursday evening, but if I can get everything ready beforehand it shouldn't be too difficult.

I'm also going to finish off making the fish pie base I started yesterday. It's just a case of mixing the fish and the sauce together. We'll do the mash on the day.

We need to get the dining room ready for family lunch on Saturday, and we'll be eating in there when my daughter gets here so time to switch on the storage heater so it has a chance to warm up before Thursday I think.

DH has already had a go at the spare room, but that will need to be finished off too. And I will need to unearth the hot water bottles for daughter. The spare room gets warmth from the sitting room below so toddler will be OK, but we won't be able to put the electric heater on in the office as the bed will be up against it, so she will need the hot water bottles, especially as she has central heating at home and we don't.

Other than that it's laundry, as usual at the weekend. I'm not doing much cooking as we are trying to empty out one of our freezers and we already have stuff which just needs to be put in the microwave. We'll be eating out of the freezer all the beginning of this week, and I'll be taking out proper food to be cooked for daughter in the next few days as well, including an obscene amount of pork belly to be cooked for my birthday lunch on Saturday!

WickedlyCharmed · 03/11/2024 09:52

2 cups of tea down and everyone in the house is stirring. It’s been a lovely weekend so far, DS has been home for the night from uni with his girlfriend and we had in-laws over yesterday for food and drinks as it was DS 21st earlier in the week.

Loads of leftovers from yesterday here so we will walk the dog shortly, then send DS back off to uni with a bag full of food. I need to do a bit of cleaning and tidying. I have a few items to upload to Vinted. And we’ll spend what’s left of the day watching TV, reading and snacking.

it’s a beautiful autumnal day!

Each to their own 😊

DaphneduM · 03/11/2024 09:58

Having had a great and busy week out with my daughter and grandchildren for half term, I'm having a lazy day today.

Had tea and two coffees already and watching Carol Klein autumn gardening on you tube. Hopefully it will inspire me to get outside later and 'tinker'. Got some cowslips and various bulbs to plant.

Looking forward to a lovely roast dinner later - always cooked by DH!!! Yay!

mugglewump · 03/11/2024 10:00

Just having toast and coffee before haring up the motorway to Manchester to console student DD who has just been dumped. The things we do for love.

CalicoPusscat · 03/11/2024 10:00

Morning, dreadful night's sleep due to pain so I am doing sod all today
