Good Morning Mumsnet! What's everyone up to today?

I've just finished my first cuppa of the day, in my kitchen spot, with girl kitten curled up at my feet. Both of them have been fed, had a mad few minutes, and boy kitten's wandered off somewhere. My guess is dd1's bedroom.

We don't have a lot planned for today. Dd1's off to work at 1pm so will probably potter at getting ready & maybe do a bit more college work - if she has time when she gets up.

Dd2 has history homework to finish. The website glitched & submitted it incomplete so she's asked the teacher to re-set it so she can do it properly. She'll probably carry on writing revision notes too.

I plan to deep clean the bathroom, upload a few things to Vinted, and do a few things ready for work tomorrow. If there's time, I'll bake the second of three Christmas cakes, but bathroom & work stuff first.

We're having stew for tea, with a baguette to dunk & picallili on the side 😋 I forgot ingredients to try making my own picallili so hopefully Lidl will have some.

Tonight it'll be my usual Self-Care Sunday scrubby shower, followed by a couple of hours crochet. Then an early ish night ready for back to work in the morning 💤

What about all of you? 🙂

it’s a beautiful autumnal day!

Each to their own 😊

Not everywhere. It's grey and drizzling here. Also, it's not compulsory to go outside if you don't wish to or are unwell or too busy (or any reason, really)

Surely you’ll get some fresh air OP?!

Yep, I'll have the windows open all day to air the house!

Not that it's any of your business but no, I don't plan on leaving the house today unless I decide I fancy a glass of wine with tea, or some sort of something sweet later on 🤷‍♀️. Then I'll leave to nip to the shop round the corner & come straight back to carry on pottering.

Good morning all :)
just about to watch F1 qualifying after it was canceled due to rain yesterday, then taking dd either to the park or into town - she hasn’t decided which yet.
Ds is off to the city centre with his girlfriend and I am cooking roast pork for dinner (with a vegetarian option for the gf) and getting everything ready for the return to work and school tomorrow.
Have a great day everyone.

Okey dokey then 🙂

Just for clarity - I did ask what people are up to...not "please judge my Sunday plans & decide they're not up to scratch".

@morestraightforward bless you I don’t think you’ve quite understood the vibe of this thread. A vibe that I personally find really comforting. I love reading about people’s simple pleasures and gentle Sunday routines. It’s also, I think, one of the few unfailingly kind and non-hectoring threads on mn. So if @lucysmam wants to stay indoors all day, that’s fine.

It’s also grey and damp Here too but I hope you enjoy the glorious autumn day you have there. There really is nothing finer than some autumn sunshine.

dontforgetme · 03/11/2024 10:20

Good morning @lucysmam and all!

Some deep cleaning to do this morning, oh will take the kids to the park then to m&s to grab some beef for Sunday dinner. After deep cleaning all bathrooms and living room I'll be washing my hair then settling down at 2pm for kick off with Prosecco. The kids and I have 1 more day off tomorrow so have promised we will watch a Harry Potter tonight.

Have lovely Sundays all!

Fundays12 · 03/11/2024 10:21

Had 2 coffees so far and planning on going out to cut my grass and give my garden it's final tidy before winter. DH has taken DC2 and DC3 swimming. DC1 is still in his bed and showing no signs of moving anytime soon. We have had a crazy few weeks so needed a weekend at home.

PandaChopChop · 03/11/2024 10:22

Morning @lucysmam and all

I had a much longer lay in than I intended but I was up at 3am reading because I couldn't sleep.
Got to get up and hang washing out/or on the heated airer, decide whether to have burritos for lunch or dinner. We're off to see my best friend and DC who has recently started walking so I'm looking forward to chasing them round!

Will come home and get everyone bathed/ready for back to school. I also realised in the middle of the night that I need to check the paint sprayer as its got paint in. Debating whether to just pay someone to finish the fence because it doesn't look like I'm going to get any time to do it...

Dirtydancing1 · 03/11/2024 10:24

Morning all.
Just having second coffee of the morning in bed.
Then need to iron all the school clothes ready for the week, one back to school tomorrow and other one back on Tuesday.
I will sort all my work things out ready for tomorrow.
Both DC still asleep so lovely and peaceful, DH just gone to supermarket for a couple of bits we need for a roast dinner.
Unsure who is cooking it yet.
It will be a very relaxing easy going day today.
Absolutely no going out for fresh air, I love a relaxing day to much.
The kitten is purring away on me (so that's another reason I can't get up just yet)
Will have a nice bath and hair wash late, then early night ready for the week ahead.

Shallysally · 03/11/2024 10:25

Good morning @lucysmam and everyone.

DP has just made us a coffee. Need to get moving soon as going to his parents for a couple of days. Glad I packed yesterday!

Going to take the dog for a quick walk so he’s settled for the journey.

Have a lovely day all!

Decafflatteplease · 03/11/2024 10:25

Morning @lucysmam and the Sunday crew!

We w had a pottering morning, waiting for the weekly shop delivery. I'm debating a self care Sunday lazy bath this morning!

Also need to find winter coats ready for back to school.

After lunch we are off to a national trust place for a walk in the woods.

Sausage (toffee apple flavour!), mash, kale and carrots for dinner when we get home I'm really looking forward to it!

Norugratsatall · 03/11/2024 10:29

DD2 has come home for the weekend which is nice! I had a choir rehearsal yesterday so couldn't spend much time with her. Today, me her and DH are going for Sunday lunch at a local pub then probably a wander round our market town afterwards. She'll be heading back to London early evening I expect.

OldTinHat · 03/11/2024 10:30

I just said to my recently rehomed doggo that I'd not seen your usual post this morning and I hoped all was okay with you!

It's been sooooooo gloomy recently. Weatherwise! It doesn't seem to get properly light.

Doggo is sat on the bed, I'm in it, and I'm telling her about the most 😱 posts as I'm scrolling along. Her only input it to nudge me if I stop giving her ear scritches.

I've set a deadline of 10.30am to get up, shower, wash my hair, go for a long and gloomy weather training walk with dog and ponder what to have for lunch. I need to make a load of cards as I'm behind (I make them for a local charity) and then it'll be a freezer lottery for tea.

Happy Sunday all!

Isitfridayyetsophie · 03/11/2024 10:31

Just had coffee and cake, today I’m making a roast. I am not a natural chef, I feel quite stressed at the thought 😥 just about to take my son to the park to practise scooting and will meet an NCT mum when we’re there.

it’s a chicken roast if anyone wants to send me some tips 😬

hope everyone has a lovely Sunday

Dragonsandcats · 03/11/2024 10:33

Have had a very lazy start! Now walking the dog and then a pile of ironing and washing to get sorted. Hope everyone had a lovely sunday.

GameOfJones · 03/11/2024 10:34

Morning again everyone!

I've had two cups of coffee and have cleaned the kitchen and vacuumed the living room. DH has cleaned the bathrooms.

Other than that we've been pottering so far. I have read a chapter of my book and DDs have been playing on their tablet most of the morning. We've had a slow start because it's the last day of half term and want to relax.

My local COOK shop has 15% off today for members so I'm planning on popping there in a bit and stocking up the freezer for Christmas. Then we're going out for a late lunch/early dinner for a Sunday Roast as an end of school holidays treat. I cannot wait to sit by a fire with a glass of wine and have no washing up to do!

Planning on getting DDs a bath later, watching the Asia documentary on iPlayer and getting everyone an early night.

Happy Sunday everyone.

DilemmaDelilah · 03/11/2024 10:35

Update on my day so far... I have cleared up the office, just need to clean it. I have also done the spare room apart from dusting and hoovering. I will dust - DH always does the hoovering. I just need to ask daughter what to do with the TV in the spare room... I know they like to watch it together in the mornings so I am assuming that daughter will go in with toddler to do that, but best to check!

I'm now sitting on (not in) my bed about to contact daughter. I'm very decrepit so I have done enough for a while. I could do with a cup of coffee but I dont want to go downstairs and up again... hmm, I wonder if DH will be coming upstairs any time soon!

HighHeelsOnCobblestones · 03/11/2024 10:36

Just finished coffee number one. Might get another in a moment when I do some reading. DH is painting the woodwork in the hallway and we’re going to get the paint for the walls today. Very much looking forward to getting rid of the grey and white walls the previous owners chose. It makes the hallway feel cold.

I think I’ll squeeze in some exercise somewhere. Then this evening will be making popcorn and put a film on with the DC.

Thislittlekitten · 03/11/2024 10:38

Morning @lucysmam and the Sunday crew.

@Decafflatteplease those sausages sound amazing as does your meal.

I’ve been up for a while. Couldn’t sleep this morning. But have managed to clean kitchen and do various loads of laundry. Started to Hoover. Stairs to be finished and the never ending ironing too.

It’s actually a lovely day here in north east Scotland. I have the windows open. DH has taken out the dog, DD is still in bed and DS is away at a tournament. DCats snoozing.

Im going to have a cup of tea and read before I do anything else.

Not sure about tea. Maybe chicken baguettes.

Dontcallmescarface · 03/11/2024 10:38

Morning. Not doing much during the day just resting up ready to go to a gig later. It's my first night out since having a heart attack in August and I'm looking forward to it.

LadyMacbethssweetArabianhand · 03/11/2024 10:42

Good morning Lucysmam and others. I have had two coffees then a visit to Aldi for bits and pieces. Back home and put the towels on to wash and I'm having a cuppa and raisin bread. Shortly I'll make a lasagne for dinner and have it with salad and garlic bread. Lunch will be bacon and sausage. I did the most of the housework yesterday, so just have a quick polish and hoover today. I have a small ironing too. This afternoon I'll visit mum in hospital. And before we know it, it'll be Monday!

EndorsingPRActice · 03/11/2024 11:00

Nice lazy day planned here. I’ve got 2 evening meals for the week bubbling on the hob (chicken curry and beef stew). Will go for a walk later despite the gloom, probably with DD and DS. DS has a day off and will also go to the gym and watch endless sport, he was out with friends until late last night and needs a recovery day. DD is setting off back to uni late this afternoon, after being home for a ‘reading’ week, and she did work and produced and submitted 2 essays. We will probably spend some time cleaning out, weighing, nail clipping and washing the guinea pigs before she goes, she misses them more than DH and me she says! Nothing planned for this evening, will probably call DM and watch strictly results. Early start tomorrow for commute into London.
