Anyone else awake and why? It's 2.30am

The dog woke me for the 5th time tonight. Normally she's a good sleeper but tonight she wants to be in the garden..

Because there's a hedgehog out there and I'm so mean I won't let her go and play woth it

Mine is dog related too! He's eaten the cats food. It always gives him a bad belly. So I knew it was coming because he ate the kittens when my back was turned 😐

Hope its not too horrible poor doggy. Initially mjsread and thoght younsaid she had earen the kittens! Thankfully mine has a pretty strong stomach though we will not think too much about the time she ate a dead crab on the beach.. not pretty

I’m awake …. mid divorce with a possible house move this week so lots going on in my brain. Lots to do practically also but obviously it’s me that’s having to sort it all and the STBEX hasn’t done anything (except cause problems) since he moved out.

He used to be able to eat everything but he's 13 now and the slightest sniff of something gives him a bad belly. He's good though and gets me up to let him out!

Do you get hedgehogs a lot?

Type 1 diabetes. My blood sugar is dangerously low so my glucose alarm woke me up. Second night in a row. I’m like a zombie during the day at the moment.

@Browniesandcustard we have had quite a few this year. I haven't mowed the lawn for a while for fear of hurting them.. looks like a field.

Sorry you're going through such a rubbish time. You sound like you might as well get up and pack a box or 2 you'll probably sleep easier once you've put your energy to good use

@TakeMe2Insanity can you put some white/brown noise on to help you drop off (although obv if your baby is in with you perhaps not possible)?

@EliCopter at least your monitor works! Hope your blood sugar stabilises soon. What do you need to do.. eat? Insulin shot? Sorry genuinely don't know

I think you’re right, I’m just lying here faffing when I could be being more productive… hopefully should find out today if the move is definitely going ahead or not - really hope so but waiting on some paperwork along the chain. Still, needed to clear through all the cr ap in the house anyway 🤣

I have a chest infection and a cough that won't let me sleep.

Same! Mine woke up at 00:50 and not long gone back down. I knew it was game over when she wouldn't settle & I had to come downstairs 😩

I used to love this time with my DCs.

Initially woke up for a wee but now laid here listening to the wind and thinking about DH laying next to me who has stage 4 oesophageal cancer.
We have a little hedgehog house in the garden but haven't had a visitor for ages

An insulin shot would kill me as insulin lowers blood sugar.

I’ve had a banana but it’s not doing much. Will probably try an apple juice in a sec but then it will likely go too high.

A woman I know - a Mumsnetter actually - who had T1 died in her sleep when her blood sugar went too low. She didn’t have a monitor so didn’t wake up. Left behind two small kids. People joke about “diabetes” all the time without realizing that Type 1 is totally different to Type 2 and a very deadly illness that requires constant monitoring.

The lack of knowledge - even from HCP - is horrifying, like the insulin comment above. It’s not your fault, OP, most people are ignorant. But it’s tough dealing with the ignorance on top of managing the actual disease. Anyway I’m off to have a juice.

I am awake as I’m 34 weeks pregnant and very uncomfortable. Third baby. DS is asleep next to me after kicking DH out the bed. Not room for three of us plus huge bump! Trawling baby name threads for ideas…

Dog related as well. Some kind of wildlife under our decking keeping our JRT outside…not yapping just scraping .
@listsandbudgets I have never seen a real life hedgehog ..so lucky .

I'm staying at a Haven site and it's very rainy and windy so the caravan is getting completely lashed and it's way too noisy to sleep as the bed is on the side that is getting hit with it all.
