The dog woke me for the 5th time tonight. Normally she's a good sleeper but tonight she wants to be in the garden..

Because there's a hedgehog out there and I'm so mean I won't let her go and play woth it

I’m not sure that I can have anything different or stronger here on the NHS. They just offer the patches, set dosage, nothing else.

I can ask the question though. If not then I have no other choice as can’t afford private.

Fuelledbylatte · 28/10/2024 04:43

Eldest has her first early morning shift starting at 4.30
Mum brain woke me on the hour until I could hear her and the front door go. Was trying to keep a safe distance and let her feel trusted/responsible. Now lying awake trying to work out if I can be bothered for a wee...

Good luck, I hope you can get it sorted. It’s incredible how debilitating the bastard menopause can be.

Moonbark · 28/10/2024 04:52

Up with my baby who has been up for 45m and showing no signs of going back to sleep yet.

listsandbudgets · 28/10/2024 05:01

Managed to drift off for nearly 2 hours but Mr/s Hedgehog on the prowl again and so am I!! It's on the grass now. They're quite cute i suppose .. unless you're a slug.

@EliCopter I really hope your blood sugar has stabilised now and you can get some proper sleep

@NewmummyJ how's baby now? It's so frightening when they do this to us. Have you got vicks or olbas oil or similar.. put some in very hot water near baby.. not to near domt want to spill it them. Sometimes it helps the congestion.

Fairly sure I'm menopausal. I'm sleeping ( hedgehogs allowjng) but of all things I've been struggling with morning sickness for months.. I mean WTF .. ive got a coil in which apparently lessens the menopause symptoms

Well done must have been hard to overcome maternal nstinct to get up and interfere .. she's probably wojder8ng why mum wasn't up to offer a hot breakfast, find her coat and shoes and dispense a few words of wisdom.. but they've all got to grow up sometime. My dd just went to uni fund it hard to even go in her room I miss her so much

I suppose it’s technically 6am which is when I usually wake up (also bastard menopause) but I’m probably awake because I have to deal with an untenable situation at work today which will probably result in me asking for a move to a different team. So that’s nice! Sorry for those who find themselves awake when they don’t want to be.

HerbertVonDoodlebug · 28/10/2024 05:20

Been awake since 3am because I’m visiting my parent and they’re unwell (just had nurses out). Also woke at 5am yesterday due to my body clock not getting the memo about the clocks going back. <yawn>

Angrymum22 · 28/10/2024 05:33

I’m sleeping in a reclining chair in a hospice. My little sister is on end of life pathway and after 2 weeks of ups and downs we were called in because she has less than 24hrs. Fortunately it’s a big room they have provided an extra bed which we have been taking it in turns to stay with her every night. But we now have two reclining chairs in addition to allow us to rest while we see her out.
We all managed to sleep but woke when she had a coughing fit.
It has been a tough few weeks but with lots of love, laughs and tears along the way
She is in so much pain so is fully sedated and on plenty of painkillers so she is pain free. Hopefully she will die peacefully today which will end her suffering.

HerbertVonDoodlebug · 28/10/2024 05:36

💐 @Angrymum22 so sorry to hear that. I hope today is peaceful for you all.

OrangeVelvetSofa · 28/10/2024 05:44

@Angrymum22 so sorry to hear about your sister. I hope she stays comfortable now and that you all get some peace from her finally being pain free after her struggle.

dancingwhilstfacingthemusic · 28/10/2024 05:50

@Angrymum22 Im so very sorry to hear this. Just been through similar with dad although hospital based.

@EliCopter I hope your sugars stabilised rather than bounced. My ds2 has t1 and before he got a pump and sensor that talk to one another we were often up through the night with him. He still has night hypos occasionally but things are so much better. He tends to take a couple of dextrosol for faster action to get him back up before having a snack if he is consistently low (although he’s learned he has to do a bolus for some snacks or gets a rebound high)

I’m up as chemo has given me a random body clock and I’m still experiencing pain from a procedure last week. This too will pass.

OrangeVelvetSofa · 28/10/2024 05:50

I have been awake since 3.45am because we moved house over the weekend and there is so much to do and it’s odd being in a strange house.

My sleep has been terrible recently without the move added in. I seem to wake up at 3 most night nights for around an hour. Usually can drop back off but I was just getting frustrated listing things in my head that need unpacking or sorting. Just sitting with cuppa number 2 trying to think of quiet things to do that won’t wake OH or the kids.

Restinpeacefavouritecoathanger · 28/10/2024 06:02

The dog. Think the village idiots have been letting fireworks off in the night she's very protective since my daughter was born she slept sideways on our bed leaving me with about a inch of room, I am not a slim girl!!

Oh they're so cute like that, weirdly dogs can get very protective of babies.

Shame about fireworks though it does frighten animals

Restinpeacefavouritecoathanger · 28/10/2024 06:16

Yeah can't be too cross with her it's only her instinct's. God gave us caffeine!:

listsandbudgets · 28/10/2024 09:33

@Angrymum22 I am so sorry to read this. I am glad your sister will be able to slip away without pain and surrounded by those who love her so much

@Angrymum22 so sorry to hear this, have been through the same and I hope that the end comes peacefully for you all x

Rubyupbeat · 28/10/2024 11:00

I was awake between 1.30am and 3.30am, I am having a TN flare up atm, but also there was a man wandering up and down our very quiet close talking very loudly, not sure if in a different language? and was getting very irate. I went downstairs to make sure everything was locked up, so that and the pain kept me wide awake!

Zoflorabore · 28/10/2024 12:21

@Angrymum22 I’m so sorry to read your post and it puts things into perspective for me that whilst I’m fed up and in pain I’m here and I’m grateful for that. I’m sending you the biggest hug, I hope today is kind to you all.
