I've been to London and back by train today.
Not particularly cheap despite ds disabled persona railcard because we needed to be in London before 10am.
However we can park all day for free at a train station 20 minutes drive away (mines 20 mins walk) due to BB. It's much easier to catch train from this station.
But the biggest difference I found is how much better people are in London transport.
We got on and ds had his wheel chair and crutches and the people sat in priority seating hid their heads in books and phones and tried extremely hard to ignore our existence. Once in London we collapsed his wheelchair and used the elevator (I'm a pro at this 😂) but people couldn't have been more helpful offering to help. As soon as we went onto tube and people saw his chair and crutches they couldn't flee on mass form the priority seats quick enough! (And he only needs one seat and could sit in his chair but it's easier to have it folded as takes up less room and he can sit in a seat.
I found it most illuminating that where public transport is much more the norm people are much better at using it iyswim?
