OK what's purple all about? I'm not understanding it at all

OK I understand purple now & really don't like it!

I don't have a light bulb on my android app 🤷‍♀️

I start my day with Wordle, then connections. I save the Mini and Strands for later on in the day. It's definitely all part of my routine now!

I don't understand the issue with purple even though I only got it by default. We'll have to reconvene tomorrow!

Found this one too easy. I can see why people fell for the red herring though. It was tempting 😃

Wouldn't affect me this particular time because I've done it earlier than usual, but can people please not explain answers until they wake up in the morning of the following day?

Midnight for you guys in the UK is only 4pm for me, and I often leave Connections until after I finish work.

I'm probably not the only one on the thread who is in a different timezone.

Not in any way trying to be provocative/an arse, but I genuinely don't understand why you would come to the thread before doing the puzzle? So why are possible spoilers an issue? Genuinely curious as I'm most likely missing something obvious!

I didn't actually get purple but entered those first due to being confident about which ones were green!

I sometimes have a look first to get an idea of whether it's a difficult one or not.....

I thought that was quite difficult to distinguish between blue and purple - very American . I didn't notice any red herring !

I have a lightbulb on the app but it only gives me a very general explanation of how to do the puzzle - no hints to that particular one . Do you need to subscribe ?

Had a quick look back and I can see the red herring now. I did see two of those but it was after I'd already got the yellow and green .

@PangoPurrl I don’t understand it either - I only come when I’m all finished.

(Then again, I think getting hints kind of defeats the object. Where’s the fun in that?)

Biggest spoiler risk is if someone starts their post discussing the answers, the first couple of lines of each post shows up in the thread summary on my list of watched threads. But yes, like @CurlewKate said, on occasion I might take a look at this thread before I've completely finished the puzzle. I'm not looking to get hints, but to see whether I'm the only one finding it particularly difficult that day.

Ah, fair play, thanks to those of you that explained. I'm kind of tempted to start a separate thread where spoilers are allowed though, or rather where those that want to can discuss straight after playing. It's something that I would enjoy being able to do some days, and it's never quite the same the following, as I've already forgotten the previous days groups and/or my thought processes! 🤦🏻‍♀️

I have the lightbulb and have used the hints there a couple of times, never even twigged the picture was a clue 😆😆😆

I could have done with a light bulb this morning. I did use a hints site. Didn’t help! I do deliberately use one that I think is a bit rubbish. Which is a bit strange I know! But I think it’s not hugely massive hints just sometimes helps my thinking. Or not like today!

I rarely look at the thread before I’ve done the puzzle.

Puple by default. I sometimes take a quick look at the thread to see if I’m alone in finding it hard. A separate “spoilers allowed” thread would be a good idea except for the point that the start of the posts would come up in my watched threads, as a PP said.
