Tricky today. If I don't want spoilers, I don't come on here until I have done it. I think a separate chat with spoilers could be good as it's only really on the day itself that it seems relevant.

When I started this thread, I don't specify ' no spoilers'.
I don't tend to post until after I've done the puzzle so am ambivalent about discussing it on the day. I too have forgotten by the following day. I can't be bothered being too precious about it, it's only a puzzle after all!

Yes @WingBingo no one ever comes straight out with the answer, most comments are cryptic and only really obvious once you've completed the puzzle.

Got caught out on blue with one being correct but clunky af & couldn't see purple till I'd defaulted, though it is fair.

As for yesterday's purple!! Awful, bloody, real & way for 'extremely' makes sense after the fact (in a hammer-to-crack-a-nut kind of way) but to me, in British English, those words are FAR more nuanced than extremely. Seems ppl either did or didn't appreciate it on the subreddit. (@CurlewKate )

Yesterday's purple was annoying, but I could get the intention. But even with the answer, I still don't get how one of the purple words today connects to the rest.

I think I know which one you mean- and I'm trying to think of a way of non spoilerishly helping!

Oh, I have finally got it. My brain refused to let go of a particular interpretation of one of the words. If I were to put it in terms of school subjects, I was thinking of arithmetic rather than PE, if that makes sense.
