OP posts:
Milliondoll · 25/07/2024 18:22

Yep I am 4 month old and lying on a brown corduroy sofa in a brown and pink knitted babygro

Redglitter · 25/07/2024 18:22

The irony of starting a thread questioning if its the holidays with a thread that makes no sense whatsoever 🙄

Mybestusername · 25/07/2024 18:22

White dogshit?

Richard1985 · 25/07/2024 18:23

I wish it was. I’d love to have seen that amazing Leeds United team with their second championship. Sadly Brian Clough has just taken over as manager and I have a feeling things might start taking a turn for the worse

But it's turned into a lovely nostalgic thread so who cares?

ApolloandDaphne · 25/07/2024 18:23

Ah 1974. The year I left primary school and had the summer before starting secondary. Wonderful times!

Hummingbird75 · 25/07/2024 18:24

What and we are going into what happened after?? The economy crashing, electricity failures and mass strikes or what?? I am more hoping for a heatwave

LadyCrumpet · 25/07/2024 18:24

More like 1984.

I can't remember 1974 because of................ the weed, man.

Edited

That was true for me, pretty much. I was 17 and on 28th August I would be battered by a police truncheon and loaded into a black maria at the Windsor Free Festival - topless. Not sure my parents ever fully recovered. Happy days.

Don't worry, it won't last.

It matters not why the OP started the thread. Leave us alone and let us enjoy memories of happier and less complicated times 😁

JessyCarr · 25/07/2024 18:26

@Hummingbird75 Don’t worry, you’ll get your heatwave! You’ll think 1975 is hot…until the summer of ‘76 arrives.

76 was the absolute topper. Never been a year like it aaah the memories 🥰🥰

8legs · 25/07/2024 18:28

I’m enjoying the reminiscences!

This thread was inspired by a few posts I saw today such as ‘do women belong on the front lines’ and ‘how can I find out how many foreigners are living near me’. Felt a bit time warpy.

Ah 76, was away in France what felt like months and the heat.

VeryHappyBunny · 25/07/2024 18:30

Looking forward to seeing David Essex.

LaMadameCholet · 25/07/2024 18:31

I hope it’s 1974, because then, when the ice cream man comes, I will be choosing a Ghost Train lolly.

@8legs

Time warpy maybe, but what has it being the school holidays got to do with anything? Do you think teachers are more likely to post about women on the front line, and 'foreigners?' Confused

Are Abba in the top 10? If so, it's 1974.

I was at university then.

So you can ask me anything about the mad early 1970s.
