By 'horror' I mean age appropriate spooky films. He loves anything and everything scary. Monster House is his favourite. He's desperate to watch Wednesday and Beetlejuice but they're not appropriate so I've said no. Can anyone suggest anything as a substitute?

There was a series of fairytales on years ago, I think it was called the Storyteller. It had John Hurt as the titular storyteller. A different story every week. If they fit the bill, they might keep you going for a few weeks.

Was going to suggest '9', but someone mentioned it upthread. I didn't realise it was 12a. Post apocalyptic rag dolls, terrified me.

I love 9

The Batman cartoons or the old Justice League ones were very popular with my kids at that age! Good spooky vibes.

What about muppets haunted mansion on Disney plus. My son of a similar age loves this

There is a film version on Hansel and Gretel, from 1987, which is scary if you can get it anywhere. It is on YouTube. I'm not sure if it's anywhere else.

It gets scary once the witch comes on the scene.
