What brand is it?

Ours has just died after 6 years. Previous one was the same age when it conked out.
I know this is about the average life of them but wondering if it's worth forking out a bit more for a Bosch or whatever. Not bothered about fancy features, just want it to wash well (preferably without the arms getting blocked every 5 mins!)

For reference our past ones have been Kenwood/Russell Hobbs
Also live in a hard water area which doesn't help at all.

I have had 2x Bosch and never again. They didn’t wash properly. I e has an AEG for a few years now and it’s great.

OatcakeCravings · 14/06/2024 19:53

I had a Neff that lasted for 20 years. Then had a Beko for 4 years and now onto another Beko, not because I wanted one but due to dimensions as it is integrated and I couldn’t be bothered with anything going wrong with the fitting!

BraMaHaLas · 14/06/2024 19:53

I hated my Bosch, so much so I actually replaced it whilst it was still working and bought a Miele.

Bosch. At least 12 years old and we have hard water

Pinkypinkyplonk · 14/06/2024 19:53

Mine is 12 years old, switched on almost every day, as we are a family of five, plus guests every weekend! It’s a Siemens, well worth it, never even needed an engineer

Beautifulbythebay · 14/06/2024 19:54

Beko.. On every day for over 9 years without incident..

Trundledagain · 14/06/2024 19:54

We had a Bosch for 12 years . Changed it when we did up the kitchen and got a whirlpool cos I wanted built in. I think about that Bosch often 😂 It was brilliant.! Never any problems and much better and quieter than this one. I kind of hope this will go at 6 years to be honest i hate it so much.

LaPalmaLlama · 14/06/2024 19:55

20 years old. It's a NEFF. It probably is on borrowed time now but it's still pretty ok.

OhFensa · 14/06/2024 19:56

We have a Bosch. Dunno how old it is as it was here when we moved in which was ten years ago. Still going strong. Used every day.

LaPalmaLlama · 14/06/2024 19:56

For hard water area, use salt even though you supposedly dont need to. I started using it and the difference was amazing. Can be hard to find but can get it on Amazon if cant find locally.

itsjustasecrethandshake · 14/06/2024 19:56

Our Miele was put in in 1990 😬 and still going strong. Large family too so gets plenty of use

missshilling · 14/06/2024 19:57

Bosch. My husband bought it in 2000. Years before I met him.

Bluevelvetsofa · 14/06/2024 20:02

Beko here too. The choice for integrated was limited and the alternative was nearly £1000. No way! Cutlery tray, very quiet, it’s done its duty.

Speckledy · 14/06/2024 20:02

Bosch. Bought it in 2010 or 2011.
Hard water area.

user1471556642 · 14/06/2024 20:03

Ours is a Bosch. Works well, think it’s nine years old

LateMumma · 14/06/2024 20:03

Indesit, 9yo and still going strong 🤞

bluecomputerscreen · 14/06/2024 20:04

Mine is a 17 year old bosch

Turkeyhen · 14/06/2024 20:05

Bosch > 10 years old - and we have hard water

Sparsely · 14/06/2024 20:06

We bought ours when we moved in 2007, Siemens. Did you try getting yours repaired?

CatStoleMyChocolate · 14/06/2024 20:06

Mine is a Bosch, somewhere between 13 and 17 years old. Hard water area with no softener until 2 years ago.

Ratfinkstinkypink · 14/06/2024 20:06

A cheap and cheerful Beko with no whistles or bells but it does the job.

PuppetQueen · 14/06/2024 20:07

My Zanussi died after eleven years of daily use. I would have got another Zanussi, but the specs had changed.

Lofoton · 14/06/2024 20:08

Bought a Hisense 3 years ago. It's been my least favourite dishwasher of my lifetime but can't put my finger on why exactly. The door clip is now broken and I don't have the heart to try and fix it, so watching this thread with interest..!

ComingInByAnsible · 14/06/2024 20:08

40 year old Neff - not a typo! Hard water area, no hard water filter, and still going strong. Will finally be replaced this summer as we are redoing the kitchen. We should probably donate it to a museum. I bet they don't make them like that anymore!
