I hope it’s true. He was horrible to her on This Morning. I don’t know how she put up with if for so long.

They did indeed and both talked very fondly of the other

I guess we will find out the reason withing a few months if not before

They made a lovely pair, a genuine couple

BirthdayRainbow · 25/05/2024 18:23

Apparently their work has taken them in different directions. I heard her being snippy to him more than him being vile to her tbh.

BustyLee · 25/05/2024 18:29

She seems so lovely. What the hell was she doing with him in the first place? She’s free as a bird now and I don’t think she will have any trouble finding herself a nice bloke.

butterpuffed · 25/05/2024 18:30

I thought she was the one who always sniped at him , saying quite nasty things about him and laughing like it was a joke, when most knew it wasn't .

They were both at each other at times, a proper marriage IMO

Not like mine, thankfully.

Nor mine until we split

I’m surprised. I thought they were very happy

LlynTegid · 25/05/2024 18:42

I don't see why it even needs an announcement, unless it is to spare anyone on Loose Women asking innocently 'how's Eamonn'.

Never liked Eamonn as he is a glory seeking Manchester United supporter.

Me too

The banter was like a good, old solid marriage. Not like the modern ones where they fall out over leaving the toilet seat up, etc

We will get to find out in time what really happened.

I was not really a fan of any of them but both were pleasant enough and he made me lol and she was a bit more serious

Mumoftwinsandasingleton · 25/05/2024 18:43

Every time I watched "This Morning " with them on, I felt uncomfortable at how flirty he was with the younger female guests. He was even inappropriate with Clodagh, and Ruth was just always trying to ignore and continue on as if nothing happened. It made me uncomfortable. It's absolutely no surprise to me that they are getting a divorce

Shitvenir · 25/05/2024 19:02

Delighted for her.

So why watch them if it made you "unconfartable??????

Mumsnet double standards strong on this thread. If a man left a sick wife, everyone would be saying what an unfeeling bastard he was and citing it as evidence of how selfish men are. I'm not saying that Ruth is a bad person for not sticking around, and in fact it might not be anything to do with his illness at all. I am just somewhat amused (although not surprised) by the difference in attitude on here between when a man does something and when a woman does the exact same thing.

Being sick doesn’t make him a nice person though. He’s vile.

I don’t think asking one question means she’s obsessed 🙄

beeonmybonnett · 25/05/2024 19:08

Does it really matter what happened between them. This is private and nobody’s business but theirs.

Then why click on the thread?

Thanks for saying that as I just get abused if I post stuff like that

It was a very contradictory post, EG, "Does it really matter what happened between them" and then not only read but then post on this thread🙄

LittleMissSleepyUK · 25/05/2024 19:13

She chased him when he was married, leading to his first divorce. He then gets sick so she gets rid

sums her up really

Roselilly36 · 25/05/2024 19:14

I am really surprised, wasn’t expecting that at all.

No worries, ignore them, they want to gossip but also act like butter wouldn’t melt.
