I have a feeling the right wing nutters will hang on. The Conservative Party was always going to take a lurch to the right and that’s what I think we’re seeing. Unfortunately I think we’ll see good Tories (and they do exist) now finding themselves politically homeless.

I have no time for the Tories but it’s a sad state of affairs when there is no genuine opposition to hold the Govt to account.

The bit that I didn't screenshot was that according to Electoral Calculus, Labour have an 84% chance of winning.

And even if the Reform candidate were to stand which I doubt would happen and all the Reform votes went to the Conservatives, it still wouldn't be enough to save Smug

On a more serious note, I agree with you that any Government needs a decent opposition to hold them to account. Unfortunately, the Conservatives either actively got rid of, or chased away, their more decent wing

This is reminiscent of the 24 hours before Johnson’s resignation when the letters were coming in thick and fast. There must be dropped jaws in Labour HQ.
