" I gave you furlough money, so you owe me your vote"

Nope.
Public money. Our money.

Has Rishi’s tantrum driven out Larry? He better not have traumatised that poor cat!

@Notonthestairs Kier was quite convincingly advocating for them earlier on, I hope he’s true to his word and doesn’t let it get overshadowed.

That's good to read.

Notonthestairs · 22/05/2024 17:33

Bloody hell, the Shit List is going to be massive.

Notonthestairs · 22/05/2024 17:34

I think if anyone is planning on standing down at the next election they've got a fortnight to do it.

Sunak?

DuncinToffee · 22/05/2024 17:35

Labour will be worse is going to be the running theme, isn't it.

"If we go on about Labour not having a plan, they won't notice that we don't either!"

I promised myself I wouldn't post again on here until this day, came a bit sooner than expected.

Fortuitously not at work on 5th!

Love the name!

any clues to a previous one?

Smile @Thingscanonlygetsunk - although now I'm wondering if any PM has led a GE campaign after announcing they are stepping down! People wouldn't know who they were voting for unless the Conservatives had a unity candidate and I don't think they have that.

Not many people are going to vote Conservative anyway, so probably not much of an issue?

Yup inserted into practically every sentence uttered by the ejjits I expect.

RafaistheKingofClay · 22/05/2024 17:47

The inevitable John Crace piece on that announcement is going to be amazing.

I think an awful lot will, maybe more than the 'polls suggest.

I hope Labour run a positive and bold campaign, the country is crying out for it.

My favourite so far….I am sure there will be many, many more….

But... don't forget Labour has to get a MASSIVE swing to get over the line, and anyone who's been knocking around for a few years will remind you that campaigns can change things - we'll hear from Starmer in a bit - keep up with @BBCNews and #NEWSCASTERS we'll be with you in a while

Kuenssberg getting in there early. Expect an appearance from ‘but Jeremy Corbyn’ soon.

LK seems to have forgotten the last handful of byelections - massive swings have happened, can happen and with a government as unpopular as this one, will happen again.

But let her go on and on about how it might not happen, that will motivate Labour voters to come out on the day.

@Giglebtink it isn't a personality contest about charisma. We've had popularity politics and it's landed us in the shit - now it's time for boring, calm, competent and patient. If you don't want that, just vote Tory.

That we need to get the Tories out and stop the chaos.

That we can trust him due to his public service.

That the future is in our hands.

That he is not dumb enough to stand at a lectern outside No. 10 in the pissing rain, just to satisfy his vanity.

That was just half listening as I was chopping onions.

Just a small thought.

We know there are lots of posters who hate these long running threads and would love to get some of us banned or the threads pulled.

They will no doubt visit these threads in the next six weeks. Cool heads are going to be needed! 😎
