I really like their sliced sourdough. And their cherry lattices.

What do you like that you can only get from there?

Marmande Tomatoes

Sorrento Lemons

Samphire

StarDolphins · 16/05/2024 21:45

I love the garlic chill & prawn pizza, the essential houmous is absolutely lovely too. I like the Greek salad, the essential salt & vinegar crisps. My dog likes the brined cook in the bag whole chicken! & my DD likes the paella! So many lovely things.

Ereyraa · 16/05/2024 21:48

I’m going to do an order based on this thread!

I also love the chicken and prawn paella, and the frozen breaded Camembert

buzzy1 · 16/05/2024 21:48

Tuna fillets in jars of extra virgin olive oil- great for Niçoise salad

Again, genuinely great if you can manage the crates. I can’t really at the moment.

Do you carry them through your house yourself?
I can’t work out what other people do if they can’t manage it.

My Waitrose drivers are usually fine with carrying them through to the kitchen for me and some help me unload onto my worktop. I balance the crates one one of those dalek stools so I don't have to bend too much.

saraclara · 16/05/2024 21:51

No1 lemon curd

DorotheaHomeAlone · 16/05/2024 21:53

@Donotgogentle Im confused. Have you asked them to bring the crates through and they’ve refused? We get a different driver each week and they all happily carry crates through to the kitchen and help empty them out.

Donotgogentle · 16/05/2024 21:55

I’ve never asked. They just put them down outside my front door and leave me to it.

I’ll ask them to carry the crates through if that’s something they do/they’re allowed to do.

FormerlySpeckledyHen · 16/05/2024 21:58

Coffee ice cream
Frozen blueberries
Own brand kefir
Heyford whole meal bread

TheGladMoose · 16/05/2024 22:03

Advacados are always good, and the deli counter.

CuriousMariette · 16/05/2024 22:10

It states online that the driver will carry crates through and there’s a box on the order page for instructions. I decant the crates into liftable bags on the doorstep - if I’m having a bad back day I ask the driver to stack the crates so I don’t have to bend down so far. I’m a new by to Waitrose so grateful for all the ideas on here!

Rina66 · 16/05/2024 20:52

essential thick sausages
almond croissants
scented tissues
hash browns but haven't been able to get them for ages

@Rina66 their frozen potato rösti are quite good. They’re circular instead of rounded rectangles. https://www.waitrose.com/ecom/products/waitrose-frozen-potato-rosti/021766-10612-10613

Their own teabags: lapsang, earl grey, chai.

The cats love the Waitrose cat food in broth/gravy

Their yoghurt dressed coleslaw is the only supermarket coleslaw that is actually nice.

The brambly apple pie

DGPP · 16/05/2024 22:17

Yes if you go to the website under plastic bags, it says why they’ve got rid of them and that the driver will bring the crates inside for you if you prefer. Tell them you have a bad back and they need bringing inside please. They will even help you unpack

YourTruthorMine · 16/05/2024 22:19

Cherry and almond lattices, butterscotch and pecan danish, their french baguettes are gorgeous, tastes as good as those I ate in Paris

TheChosenTwo · 16/05/2024 22:25

Funnily enough the plastic bags was one of the 2 big reasons I left ocado! The other was their partnership with M&S which I hate as so much of it is ready meals and pre prepared food which i tend not to buy, we used to love that waitrose (therefore ocado) sold lots of the french range of food.
Waitrose delivery we found to be quite surprisingly crap so knocked that on the head. Now one of us goes to Waitrose to buy specific things (they do a wider variety of veg particularly), get a delivery from Tesco and dh goes to the butchers for the meat.
Food shopping is a PITA!

hexsnidgett · 16/05/2024 22:25

Garlic mushroom pizza is the best supermarket pizza.
Glycerin soaps
Hazelnut, cashew and pistachio chocolate omg.
I keep looking for the essential apple yumyums but I fear they have been discontinued.Sad

Tuftedandbusted · 16/05/2024 22:40

Jerusalem artichokes. Almost cried when I found them. So good with olive oil, dill and fava beans, eaten cold.

We steam them and eat with vinegrette
Have also been persuaded to put in an order thanks to this thread!

Terre di Faiano primitivo

I came on to say this.

Also their bags of ready made soffritto when you can't be arsed. See also frozen chopped shallots.
Their prawn cocktail is nice (not the reduced fat).

AccidentallyWesAnderson · 16/05/2024 22:45

Also the cappuccino mousse.

MooseBeTimeForSnow · 16/05/2024 22:49

Wistful sigh. I miss Waitrose.

Thingymabobb · 16/05/2024 22:51

No 1 burrata 🫠
Unearthed frozen pastel de nata
Unearthed frozen Churros
The Ned Pinnacle Sauvignon

MotherOfVizslas · 16/05/2024 22:52

Sicilian lemon and white chocolate cookies

ApplesinmyPocket · 16/05/2024 22:52

Fruity Chicken Curry (it's JUST like my nan used to make and delicious and you can't get it anywhere else)
W Cheddar or Gouda cheese nibbles - like you always hope cheese biscuits will be like, but aren't usually -so so cheesy and crunchy and moreish
Any of their Chinese ready meals, always good, chicken with cashew nuts eg

they seem to be the only store that sells Tyrell's Naked crisps, which are the best thing ever. I won't pay £2.75 for them though and wait till they're on an offer

Waitrose is probably my favourite online shop, and the problem with 'no bags' for those of us who can't carry much is not so bad, as £100 of shopping is only about one crate ;) Obviously I jest, and also, like a PP choose Ocado sometimes because it's so much easier to lift in bags than 200 individual items while you're trying not to keep a driver waiting, but any online delivery drivers IME will bring the crates to your kitchen for you if you'd like them to
