I really like their sliced sourdough. And their cherry lattices.

What do you like that you can only get from there?

OP posts:
IcySpritz · 16/05/2024 22:57

Horseradish beetroot. Insanely good.

Crikeyalmighty · 16/05/2024 23:01

Frozen soffrito

Alberto frozen potato croquettes ( gluten free too)

Yoghurt dressed low fat coleslaw (it's the only coleslaw I like)

Cumberland kick no 1 sausages from the meat counter (gluten free)

AngelaChasesBestLife · 16/05/2024 23:01

Their butterscotch yumyums were so delicious and then they ruined them by changing the recipe. Reading the online reviews they seemed to have a devoted, cult following until the recipe change!

Crikeyalmighty · 16/05/2024 23:02

Oh and I missed off the goan fish curry and the keralan Fry someone else mentioned -

Elphame · 16/05/2024 23:18

The nettle, gingko and peppermint tea. I get through at least a box a week if not more.

I’ve passed the addiction on to several other people too!

Ours has stopped doing the goan fish curry - it was the only other dairy free non-veggie main :(

We're way up north and our nearest store is Hexham so we can't even shop around.

Another of my favourites from the Indian range is the Aloo Gobi Saag. Also love the Aubergine Masala but it doesn't love me too much.

Alltheyearround · 16/05/2024 23:31

lemon curd
bubble bath
puddings in general - choc trifle is good.
Good range of jams.
filo spinakopita frozen aisle - 30 mins in the oven. Had it for dinner tonight.
Belvoir lime cordial (I like it with fizzy water).
I liked their own brand fabric conditioners - lovely scents - but seemed not to stock them any more last time I was there?

fiftyandfat · 16/05/2024 23:33

My latest discovery is their Pure vegan skin care range. Very reasonably priced and great for sensitive skin. The hot cloth cleanser is lovely.

ClipClopperDontStopper · 16/05/2024 23:37

chicken kievs
frozen croissants/frozen pains au chocolat
tiramisu
buffalo mozzarella

Frozen chopped herbs and chilli
Essential fish fingers
White chocolate ice cream
Chestnuts (in season)
Waitrose 1 greek yoghurt
Waitrose 1 lemon tart
Duchy pork meatballs
Short ribs
Essential rinse aid, better than branded
The frozen rosti mentioned above
Flowers

Garlic mushroom pizza is the best supermarket pizza.
Glycerin soaps
Hazelnut, cashew and pistachio chocolate omg.
I keep looking for the essential apple yumyums but I fear they have been discontinued.Sad

Yes, that chocolate is amazing.

Unfortunately I like too much of their food!

I love loads of their cheese, Ossau Iraty AOP Cheese - Waitrose No.1, Cornish Quartz vintage.

Their dips, Levantine table houmous, Levantine tabbouleh salad,

lots of their wine as the choice is really good compared to the same prices in another supermarket.

deltablue · 17/05/2024 08:21

Chicken shawarma and whipped feta dip!

Crikeyalmighty · 17/05/2024 09:43

@PickAChew ooh I love that aubergine masala too- I'm gluten free these days so eat a lot more Indian stuff than I ever did as a lot is gluten free - must check on the fish curry- I last had it about 6 weeks ago - it's lovely

Crikeyalmighty · 17/05/2024 09:45

@PickAChew I'm lucky though as here in Bath I've got 2 big branches (Bath and keynsham) to pick from- I often go to the Keynsham one for my bigger shop as it has better discounts and is better laid out!

Yes, I'm gluten free, too, but also dairy free so anywhere with good options for me is more than welcome!

And, on that note, the gluten free crumbed hake is a staple in my freezer and I love the essential hake fillets which are delicious and such good value. Not just cheaper than cod but so much nicer.

Crikeyalmighty · 17/05/2024 10:39

@PickAChew I had that crumbed hake last night - a staple here too- I swear it's actually better than the normal crumbed fish- the Albert Bartlett croquettes in freezer are great with it.

I didn't know they did frozen soffrito!! That has blown my mind! The literal minutes I would save...

It's very good! Also their frozen stir fry veg is actually nice.

MsMuffinWalloper · 16/05/2024 22:42

We steam them and eat with vinegrette
Have also been persuaded to put in an order thanks to this thread!

Try this recipe, its soo good, from Aegean coast of Turkey, a summer dish. You can also add peas in addition to fava. Some people add little cubes of potatoes too. After it's cooled down to room temperature add another dash of olive oil, dill and a bit of lemon. (they call this dish," ground apples" , as in, the apples of the earth - rather than apples of a tree-)

WheelySquirrel · 17/05/2024 19:19

The Richard Bertinet sourdough is proper sourdough but sliced into normal thin slices so you can freeze it and then toast individual slices. Much better than other sandwich loaves with loads of additives!

Also, I take bags for life to the door when my online delivery arrives and unload the crates into the bags and then carry them through to the kitchen myself. I know the drivers would do it but we’ve had this system since covid and it works so no need to change! Drivers never seem in a hurry and are happy to stand and chat whilst I do it.

LizzieBennett73 · 17/05/2024 19:30

Dark chocolate mint thins. And my Mum always asks me to get her a block of berry nougat, she's obsessed with it. Says no one else sells anything like it!

Coastalcreeksider · 17/05/2024 19:34

I've only been shopping at Waitrose for a few months and so far I like pork meatballs with mozzarella in a tomato pesto sauce type thing in the chilled cabinet.

I may be going there tomorrow so I will reference this post to look for items recommended here to try. 😀

Beezknees · 17/05/2024 19:35

This thread is hilarious. Peak mumsnet 🤣

I don't see what's hilarious about it. We're just talking about foods we like. It's hardly the stuff of comedy.

I have just put away our delivery, got 3 of the packs of meatballs with mozzarella... deeelish, and they freeze well. The Nduja ones are nice too.

Our delivery comes to the back door, I have a cafe style table there that I pull in front of the door, they put the crates on one by one and I decant onto my kitchen worktop. No bending.

virgocatlover · 17/05/2024 20:21

Their No1 pizzas are the best supermarket pizzas I've ever had (and better than many restaurants).
