Like NYT Connections game (but UK terms rather than US) - give it a try...

I've just found a Connecting Wall type game with UK terms and spellings which is very good.
Each day there is a puzzle that is either Easy, Medium, Hard or Extreme. I've found it quite useful that I can ask for a clue when I get stuck on one of the more difficult groups, but didn't need that today!

I use puzzgrid. I mainly do the puzzles by British setters, thus avoiding lots of stuff about baseball.

Easy but my fat thumb pressed the wrong button!

Odd. That seemed pretty obvious considering it was 'hard' - yet I really struggled with the first couple I tried.

I didn't identify the group for the red clues when doing the puzzle but that was the only group left :-)

Hi ShinyApple - yes it cycles round so today's is an Easy.

Got a time penalty because I assumed there were some red herrings in there - should have realised it was an Easy WordLinkle today !

not heard of this before, do you just get 60 seconds to complete the whole thing? I pondered the first one for about 30 seconds before I noticed the timer!

Ooh I like this! And SO much easier than the US version on NYT.

Hi TheChosenTwo. The timer just seems to give you a penalty marker in your statistics - it doesn't stop you finishing the puzzle. (I know from experience!)

I like it better than the NYT version because there are less US terms/phrases (that I often don't recognise), and because it allows you to continue guessing until you solve it (rather than have to abandon after 4 wrong guesses).

Today's WordLinkle is an Easy - phew !
