What fucking fresh hell is this?

I came down with a headcold 4 weeks ago. By March the 29th it was much more than a headcold but not a flu either. It felt more like a sinus infection and I went to my GP. She said it was a chest infection. Gave me 5 days of antibiotics. I felt reasonably ok-ish with them but still sore and not well.

4 weeks from the onset of all of this and I am still not better. My cough has cleared but my throat is sore again and my ears are sore and I am still nearly deaf. And I am not getting any better.

This is not a normal headcold. Not any more.

It just won't go away.

4 weeks and counting. Does anyone else have the same thing?

Well - I caught this bug in October. Don’t know if it was Covid , might have been. Three courses of antibiotics did nothing and by January I was given x rays. Followed by a CT scan. Then to be told I have ‘interstitial lung changes’. I have had a sore throat and been breathless since the start. Had a lung capacity test 2 weeks ago which stated that my lung capacity is now 54%!!!! I am a non smoker: I can’t go upstairs without lying down for five minutes. If this is the future, post Covid, I’ll be booking a trip to Switzerland soon ….

You're all describing either one of two things:

  1. SARS Cov2 infection
  2. Repeated illness having weakened your immune systems through constant exposure to SARS Cov2.

They are shouting from the rooftops but the majority are not listening. Preeminent doctors and scientists are warning us what is in store. It’s pretty scary so I’m not surprised by the head in sand approach. Unfortunately cases like yours will continue to strike so you’ll have to take notice but by then it’ll be too late.

I am one of those who has been trying to raise the alarm since 2020.

But you know what? Not a single family member or friend has given a shit. Even though they know Covid disabled my previously fit and healthy 16 yo (infected Feb 2020, now aged 20 and housebound).

No one thinks it will happen to them. Pull your heads out of your arses. It does, and it will.

SARS Cov2 is an immune-wrecking virus that causes multi-system organ damage, including (and specifically) in the brain and vascular system. But the gvt (and the complicit media) wanted you all to keep spending and going to work, and you all believed them because it was easier. And your kids have been endlessly infected with this airborne AIDS as if it were a cold, because you had hissy fits about masks, open windows and HEPA filters in schools. Well done. The End.

What was the point of the vaccines if the virus can still wreck havoc on bodies?

Vaccines were only ever supposed to be part of the solution.
The real big hitters are:

Cleaning indoor air (ventilation & filtration)
Isolation support (paid leave)
Free tests and FFP2/3 standard masks (blue surgicals useless)
Targeted antivirals

All of this would be way cheaper than disabling the economy is proving. Yet none of this is happening. Ask yourself why.

Rockschooldropout · 21/03/2024 08:51

@Vik71 .. I got covid in March 2020 and 4 years down the line I’m a shadow of my former self .. officially diagnosed two years ago with “post covid syndrome” I’ve had tests and scans which show nothing significant but every so often blood tests go out of range with no reason and latest ecgs now show I have ectopic beats ..and I’m also told I have vagus nerve damage .. we have no idea what damage in the long term this damn virus is doing to our bodies

100%
The damage will be long lasting to health and the economy.
So sorry how this has impacted your family.

Furious and despondent at DfE's latest messaging. There is a continuous stream of shitty illnesses in schools and they want to subject kids to even more.

Absolutely. And if its ever challenged I'm sure they will fall back on the fact they have supplied every school with enough CO2 monitors for every classroom and 'access' to HEPA filters if ventilation isn't sufficient. Unfortunately their messaging has been so poor most schools are not using the CO2 monitors, so not ensuring ample ventilation. Likewise gov have not provided schools with funding to purchase the HEPA filters. Other countries were installing these in 2020. So the illnesses in UK schools just keep being passed around.
...they've got them all installed in Parliament though.

I am so sorry to ready about your experience and to read about your family situation.

For me, I always took this virus seriously and even after the getting the vaccines I was still wary about it. I am still wary about the virus too and I really think people are being gaslighted into believing it's just a cold. But what can we do? This is the way it is now and I really don't want to be typing these words. There really should be some government policy still but nobody is going to be listening to health and safety advice ever again.

I am so repulsed what many people's attitudes are to infectious illness and sickness as if it's a passage of right to go around spreading whatever illness that you may have at any time. I know someone who's completely ignorant of any bugs and V&D and doses and just pass them off as doses that does the round. The spread of so much illness can be slowed down if people just cared enough to carry out appropriate steps.

  • isolate for 24 to 48 hours with cases of V&D
  • carry out appropriate hygiene - hand washing and respirtory hygiene/manners.

It's just not being done. People don't care until they themselves are hit.

I have no idea but at some point last week I was consering buckfast as a solution but I went with solpadeine instead.

My family and I have never had Covid but we mask whenever we are in company (no exceptions). We dine outdoors. I won’t risk my child especially having reduced brain function - she won’t thank me for that.

If you've had a course of antibiotics but aren't any better, maybe go back to the GP?

Husband went back after five days, told he'd get a phone call to attend for a prescription - told to attend at 2.30 AM!! He said I'll keep it thanks. They said the antibiotics had probably killed the bacteria but that he had now picked up a virus. He'd been nowhere to get a virus. Getting better now after over a month.

TheGreatGherkin · 22/03/2024 00:59

I've just recovered from a lovely dose of flu that lasted over 2 weeks, I was in bed for 9 days. Have had flu before but never like that, I've never felt so bad.

I don't understand your post. Told by whom to attend where at 2.30am? Keep what?

'chest infection'=? Was it pneumonia? Bronchitis ? Treated with antibiotics, means it was pneumonia, because bronchitis is viral. 'head cold' - did they rule covid out, did they find out what caused pneumonia, knowing is the most common covid complication. Why didn't the antibiotics work: is it because it was viral, not bacterial? What tests did they do? ''The type of pneumonia associated with COVID-19 is almost always in both lungs at the same time (bilateral).''https://my.clevelandclinic.org/health/diseases/24002-covid-pneumonia ''Yes, you can get pneumonia when infected with COVID-19. The virus that causes COVID-19 can infect your lungs, causing pneumonia'' ''To diagnose COVID pneumonia, your healthcare provider will ask about your symptoms and conduct a physical exam. They’ll listen to your lungs with a stethoscope and take your blood pressure, temperature and oxygen level. They will probably use a swab to take a sample from your nose to confirm that you have COVID-19 or to rule out an infection with other viruses.
They may perform or order additional tests, including imaging, blood tests or sputum (spit) tests.'' What tests did they do?

COVID-19 Pneumonia: Symptoms, Treatment & Recovery

COVID pneumonia is a lung infection caused by SARS CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19. Fluid and inflammation in your lungs makes it hard to breathe.
