Yay. I'm so happy. After years of suffering and months of trying, I have received a text message this morning to say I've been awarded pip. I'm so grateful and this will help my family massively especially my partner who supports me everyday no matter what. He works full time and helps me and our son on my worst days when I am not able. I would just like to know if anyone else is in my position and how long did it take to revive your award notice after you were notified? Sounds lame but I'm so happy and excited.

Well done @Tara336 if you call them up you can ask. I rang them before I got my letter and the lady on the phone read the letter out to me. What rates did they award you?

You're entitled to get a Motability vehicle now 😊

@CherryRipe1 omg! The lady asked me if i had any hobbies. She did ask how often i shower. But when I answered she didnt ask again and she just said ok. She also asked me if i had a pet. She said yo me im not here to catch you out . Then her first question was do you have a pet? Lol. I wasnt sure if she even knew what my conditions were, she couldn’t pronounce them. And also asked what a certain medication was for. I dont think she was very medically trained. X

@Starrrz Oh dear. I think they definitely are trying to catch us out. No, I don't think mine was medically trained either. She asked me if which of my conditions was causing xyz? I said they can overlap with similar presentations so it's hard to know what's what. Same here, the main condition I have she avoided pronouncing, some medical people can't pronounce or spell it!

Anyone reading who is waiting for an assessment, keep in mind you are allowed to ask the professional/qualification if the assessor.

It can be really helpful when you need to do a MR/tribunal of you can say your assessor is a chiropodist so hasn't got a good understanding of mental health conditions. Or they are a mental health nurse so don't have specialist knowledge of how arthritis can affect you.

Play them as much as they play you

@CherryRipe1 its shocking really isnt it. I was like omg this person wont even get it 😩 i was the same! They overlap, she was like right ok. I thought i wont have any luck with this :( x

Starrrz · 12/02/2024 09:38

@trooc i wish i asked but didnt want to annoy her. But she definitely had no clue about heart conditions, endometriosis or long covid! I thought it wasnt very good x

AnxiousEveryday · 12/02/2024 09:52

I think I was lucky asy assessor was actually a mental health nurse. He was a lovely chap too.

Yes I plan on applying for the mobility scheme. I currently have a hire car as I had a car accident 8 months ago and I've still not been paid out! So this will help massively with the stress of having to buy a new car.

so happy for you! I scored 6 on daily living and 4 on mobility! Done a MR, they rang me today! Went over some points and the lady said ill find out in 10 days. She also asked me at the end if my bank details were correct still. She said i only have to add a couple points for you. I rang up lter and the man said a decision has been made but he couldnt see it? Xx
