Yay. I'm so happy. After years of suffering and months of trying, I have received a text message this morning to say I've been awarded pip. I'm so grateful and this will help my family massively especially my partner who supports me everyday no matter what. He works full time and helps me and our son on my worst days when I am not able. I would just like to know if anyone else is in my position and how long did it take to revive your award notice after you were notified? Sounds lame but I'm so happy and excited.

Once they've decided to give you money, they usually do it pretty quickly.

So congrats! Trebles all round, eh?!

CatPancake · 01/02/2024 19:50

Brilliant!

I feel like I need a treble!! When she told me I nearly hyperventilated. I'm so happy to get the notability and the opportunity to have a car. Will really help me so much.

Hey that's great, well done! It's pretty difficult to get it so you must be chuffed.

uncomfortablydumb53 · 01/02/2024 20:35

That is a fantastic update
I'm sure it will make your life a little bit easier

AnxiousEveryday · 01/02/2024 20:41

I really am chuffed. Lots of people told me I would not be eligible be ayse my issues weren't severe enough so I wasn't hopeful so this is a real result.

@AnxiousEveryday thats amazing!!! I had my assessment on Tuesday. Really worried as ive been bad for 4 years , have a little child and could do witb the help :( do u mind me asking what conditions do you have ? X

TeenDivided · 09/02/2024 08:06

DD's mobility scoring following forms for tribunal, has gone from a 4 (not qualify) to a 12 (enhanced).
Considering that if anything she is slightly more mobile now than when initially assessed it shows how 'off' the initial assessments can be.

Tara336 · 11/02/2024 19:10

I was awarded PIP last week, waiting for my letter as no idea what I've been awarded. I'd never applied before and it was a bit stressful but so relieved to be awarded as my condition has deteriorated a lot over the last year

Starrrz · 11/02/2024 19:26

@Tara336 well done :) what was the assessor like? I had mine felt like i dunno how it went! Aldo do u midn me asking the conditions? Xx

LadyKenya · 11/02/2024 19:35

My understanding about it is, it is not so much what the condition is, it is about how it impacts your daily life.

Starrrz · 11/02/2024 19:37

@LadyKenya i said to the lady how much it effects me but the lady didnt really say much just oh right ok, do i wasnt sure how i got on. Hoping to even get standard which help me alot . Do u get it ? X

LadyKenya · 11/02/2024 19:49

@Starrrz Yes, I am also in the process of applying. Multiple conditions that will not improve. I find these threads helpful, because it helps me realize that there are others out there who are willing to talk about their issues, and hopefully that will help others going, or thinking of going through the process, which is not easy as evidenced here.

AnxiousEveryday · 11/02/2024 19:50

Well done @Tara336 if you call them up you can ask. I rang them before I got my letter and the lady on the phone read the letter out to me. What rates did they award you?

Starrrz · 11/02/2024 19:56

@LadyKenya well good luck :) have u had your assessment yet?

i think these threads are very helpful! I have suffered now for 4 years nearly 5. I just cant continue like this. I cried alot on the phone, as talking about these things make me realise how rubbish it is :( xx

Starrrz · 11/02/2024 19:56

@Tara336 also how long was it between your assessment and you getting awarded? X

Starrrz · 11/02/2024 20:05

Also how quick everyone get a text to say dwp had your assessment? Mine came through an hour after my assessment.

Starrrz · 11/02/2024 20:08

@CherryRipe1 in what way was it a horrible assessment? X

LadyKenya · 11/02/2024 20:10

@Starrrz Still waiting for assessment. Hopefully it will not take too long. Hopefully you will get an answer soon, the waiting is a pain, and no doubt just adds to the stress of it all.

paisley256 · 11/02/2024 20:15

I got my payment and got the award letter the following week. I don't think you'll be waiting long to be paid.

Starrrz · 11/02/2024 20:21

@paisley256 wow thats really good! Well done :) how long do people get it for ? X

Starrrz · 11/02/2024 20:24

@LadyKenya wishing you the best of luck :) its made me very anxious. As i just want to know
either way xx

LadyKenya · 11/02/2024 20:31

@Starrrz Try not to get too anxious about the wait. I know it is easy for me to say, but it won't change the outcome, and just adds to more stress.🌻

Starrrz · 11/02/2024 20:46

@LadyKenya thats very true, i have to just think i wont get it then i wont be disappointed xx

CherryRipe1 · 11/02/2024 22:45

Starrrz · 11/02/2024 20:08

@CherryRipe1 in what way was it a horrible assessment? X

Assessor tried to trip me up and asked the same questions but multiple ways. Also trick questions like do you have a dog, how far is the hospital car park from the entrance. Do you drive, go to the hairdressers, how far is your car parked from your house, distance of couch or bedroom to bathroom, my hobbies, how often I showered and changed clothes.. There were more but I can't remember. I told the assessor I was recording the conversation.
