Best supermarket doughnuts?

I like ring doughnuts and jammy ones too, but I really don't like the ones that use icing sugar on the outside. It has to be proper sugar with a little bit of a crunch that makes you like your lips.
I recently tried warming doughnuts in my air fryer and then adding a little cinnamon sugar, it's going to be my downfall
Anyway... which supermarket makes the best doughnuts?

M&S jam donuts are by far the best supermarket donut. And I'm a bit of a donut fanatic and have tried them all! 🙈

M&S is second contender, they're always slightly darker, I like a bit of a resistance to the bite of a doughnut..not too soft ta!

As an aside, if you ever find yourself in Hertfordshire- there's a bakery chain called Simmons. BEST sugared jam doughnuts. Oh I love em!

The worst are Tesco, shockingly bad. Years ago they were great, big with a crunchy sugar coating and they also used to do apple doughnuts and chocolate doughnuts which were lovely, now their offerings are a splodge of under cooked dough in icing sugar, grim.

Thank you all for your help in this essential research. I popped into Sainsburys this morning, there were no jam donuts, but I bought the ring donuts. I am expecting great things!

I also vote Sainsbury's, but only when they are fresh. Light and fluffy with good jam and proper sugar. Worth going back tomorrow for!
