How much do you sing?

I sing to every song I hear… in the car, radio. Adverts….
I can’t help myself. I am also tone deaf. My DH and teenagers are fabulous singers and hardly ever sing. Occasionally I am politely asked to stop 😂 Mostly they are long-suffering!

Rarely apart from occasionally in the car. It's for the best really.

I don't.

My elder son would put his hand over my mouth when I sang a lullaby to him and my younger son would pretend to be asleep so I'd stop.

It is. I didn't even think about the impact the op would have on my singing, I was just scared I would lose my voice entirely, even though they assured me that wasn't possible. I think singing is an indicator of my mental health, so if I'm singing, I'm happy and when the singing stops, it means I'm depressed. I have pretty much stopped listening to music now because my voice bothers me when I sing along, and singing along is the joy of music to me! I also think the loss of the ability to sing is a reminder of my cancer treatment, which I found traumatic. I feel angry that I had cancer and that it took away how I was before, my voice is a constant reminder of that.
I'm sorry you've gone through something similar, it must have been incredibly traumatising to need to learn to talk again x

Plenty to myself in the car, or at home alone.
People have been extremely blunt & rude in telling me to stop, lots of horrified faces. Apparently I'm terrible.
