I haven't seen a thread on this yet, so here's a thread to share hints for the Hidden Books Game this year:

Thank you.

I have 19 but I’m stuck on mythology. Thought I had it by choosing a gender & a country but it says it’s wrong.

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 19/11/2023 00:35

@gillys

It's not a country anymore

Despite all the clues, still stuck on the love bookcase and Annie's one

InMySpareTime · 19/11/2023 06:25

Try googling stuff from the clues plus "book" "bestseller" or "novel" and see what comes up.

Still stuck with Annie

InMySpareTime · 19/11/2023 08:07

Annie's surname is Wilkes if that helps.

OP posts:
Zonder · 19/11/2023 08:07

@ChaoticEwok it's one word. Annie is a bit of a red herring if you haven't read the book - just a character in the book. So ignore that and just look at what other word could fit the group in the titles.

AnImaginaryCat · 19/11/2023 08:31

Along with the clues above.

It's not a new book. There's also a film. Both are more than 30 years old.

(I apologise to anyone that fact upsets. I had to recheck the length of time twice as I I'm having difficulty accepting it!!)

More geographically precise than a country.
The most famous of one of these was called Helen.

narrucO1 · 19/11/2023 14:16

The first word is a collective gender and the second is a place, not a country, of legend

pinkjude · 19/11/2023 17:19

think a wellknown film about 3 children and a train by their house

ChaoticEwok · 19/11/2023 17:22

Thanks 20 done.

Any clues on the Kurara and Bin books?
i didn’t know most of the rest, but digging about on Google etc has been fun!

Retiredgrandmother · 21/11/2023 10:19

It was a city

Heatherlady · 21/11/2023 13:48

I’ve managed 18/20 but really stuck on the door with the melting ice sign and the wedding picture. Any clues gratefully appreciated!

InMySpareTime · 21/11/2023 13:57

There are lots of clues upthread, but it's the sign not the door and you're too cold with ice.

Heatherlady · 21/11/2023 13:59

Got it! Thank you. Just the wedding photo now. 🤪

InMySpareTime · 21/11/2023 14:01

What does a wedding result in? What orientation is the picture?

OP posts:
pinkjude · 21/11/2023 14:01

Just the love one to go but thats really giving me a headache!

pinkjude · 21/11/2023 14:03

the bin is a poem not a book. Think what goes in the bin

InMySpareTime · 21/11/2023 14:05

The love one isn't too bad. You've got some subjects in monochrome, but...

karenhw1 · 22/11/2023 08:03

The bin one is three words. What is another word for rubbish and what is the bin on? Think of a synonym for desolate.

Asm9633 · 22/11/2023 22:03

Last two books make one word on the theme of each title, first word will come to you then.
