@karenhw1 yep. It must have been a glitch. I saved my progress, logged out and back in and it worked. Frustrating!

I have them all now, so I'll try and hand out some clues if anyone wants them

What is Krampus by nature? What is another name for a bobby? What contains a skull? Put them all together...

Oh my goodnes, I totally thought that was a bear! Now I get it! I even tried the right book title but with the wrong animal! Doh!

The Krampus one is also a version of a very classic novel, possibly considered the author's most archetypal work (I mean the original novel, not the Krampus one)

I kept looking at that and didn't think it added up. Derr

With the help of you all here I finally completed this at lunchtime today. Some of these are hard and I’m a reader - haven’t read half these though!

By an author who is British but is of another heritage: wrote a novel which was made into a very classic film thirty years ago, which is probably their most famous novel. This novel is far more recent.

I really struggled with the Kurara one. In the end I just Googled for books which have what's on her t-shirt in the title.
