What’s for dinner?

I am so excited about my dinner which sounds really silly 😝 but we are having tofu marinated in teriyaki sauce; potato salad; cannellini bean and spinach salad and lemon green salad. I was watching a newish Netflix series called blue zones and it encouraged me to get out of my cooking rut. Plus I love tofu. I’d forgotten how much.

A scotch peh and mashed potato’s. It’s my one junk meal of the week. I can’t wait.

ATrulyMagnificentBroom · 02/09/2023 15:27

Ooh that sounds lovely OP. I'm having sausages with roasted cauliflower and roasted carrot hummus. It's a Nigel Slater recipe from his Christmas book, and is quite wintery, but I make the hummus all year round because it's gorgeous.

fig and blue cheese salad with toasted walnuts 😁

Roasted cauliflower and chickpea coconut curry, and as it's Saturday I've pushed the boat out and got us some fancy ice cream for afterwards, can't wait!

Fivemoreminutes1 · 02/09/2023 16:36

Japanese style fish finger curry!

WhatFlavourIsIt · 02/09/2023 17:09

I'm home alone, so having left over roast potatoes, broccoli, and carrots. All mushed together with gravy and a blob of redcurrent jelly. I can't wait. I've been thinking about it all day.

MonkeyPuddle · 02/09/2023 17:11

Belly pork with some stir fried veg and noodles

Perfectlystill · 02/09/2023 17:13

Coronation chicken flatties from M&S, oven chips, green beans and broccoli.

I'm bored just typing that.

Persipan · 02/09/2023 17:14

I think some sort of sweet potato and sweetcorn hash with halloumi in it. And maybe a fried egg on top.

mommybear1 · 02/09/2023 17:17

Homemade chicken balti with a non homemade garlic naan roll on DS bedtime so I can kick back and eat it in peace 😁

samestyle · 02/09/2023 17:17

I had fried chicken breast that I marinated, in a toasted panini with watercress and rocket salad and some sweet potato fries.

onwardandupwards · 02/09/2023 17:25

Baked camembert with garlic and honey, baked baguette, Parma ham with melon and apple slices, my dd favourite tea as she got a promotion at work

Hawthornberry · 02/09/2023 17:25

Inari sushi

citychick · 02/09/2023 17:27

sushi tray to start
then hamburgers in brioche buns with salad.
cba to make anything fancy this evening. There's beer and wine in the fridge.

Ladybird69 · 02/09/2023 17:31

Kippers! I’ve been fancying them for ages and having them tonight with tinned marrowfat peas! 😋

IHeartGeneHunt · 02/09/2023 17:33

Veg soup with green and purple beans, peppers, peas, sweetcorn, cashew nuts, and cheese on top.

TastesLikeStrawberriesOnASummerEvening · 02/09/2023 17:34

Lasagne and salad.
I have actually made it for once, I usually buy ready made these days as cooking seems a waste just for me.

Decafflatteplease · 02/09/2023 17:36

That sounds lovely @TheFutureMrsWolowitz I love tofu too!

We were having a Chinese takeaway and I can't wait! Need to go and pick it up soon it's our friends that run it and it's always amazing! Pre COL crisis etc we used to get it every week but now it's more like every 6 weeks

We get a few different things and all share, good way to get the DC trying different bits and bobs.

Sexnotgender · 02/09/2023 17:37

Wine. And probably leftover butter paneer or some homemade soup.

HollyBollyBooBoo · 02/09/2023 17:38

Cottage pie, very dull compared to everyone else's dinner!

TheAloe · 02/09/2023 17:39

Piri piri chicken, home made wedges with salad.

Surely2023IsTheYearForMyRainbowBaby · 02/09/2023 17:42

Chips and salad cream. Once I can be arsed to get out of bed to go and stick a tray of chips in the oven

cheeseisthebest · 02/09/2023 17:45

Cajun salmon and couscous.

CurlewKate · 02/09/2023 17:45

I'm on my own-so girl dinner!

Bookish88 · 02/09/2023 17:47

Homemade beer-battered haddock, with chips and peas, followed by apple pie and custard. It's 4yo DS's favourite and he likes to help with dinner on a Saturday night.
