Does this work for a wedding guest?

I absolutely love this dress and it's. A gorgeous fit, but I'm worried I might come across as too formal- please let me know if I'm overthinking!

Context: wedding is in Istanbul, in the evening and the bride has told me she loves it, but I just want to sensecheck. I've only recently lost enough weight to wear anything like this and I'm still trying to get used to adapting my style from constantly covering up all my bumpy bits.

Surely a skims bodysuit would still show under such a skimpy dress? You won’t be able to wear a bra with it. Also, as it’s a plain colour, and splashes or creases will really show up.
it’s a lovely dress, but not for a wedding where you’ll be wearing it all day and night.

It’s beautiful! Absolutely wear it, especially as it has the bride’s seal of approval. I hate what’s appropriate attire for UK weddings tbh, but that aside, it’s gorgeous and congratulations on your weight loss, I’m in the process myself, not easy, and can’t wait to wear some lovely dresses again! X

It's lovely OP, especially for an evening wedding. I went to a summer wedding in the UK recently and there were a few guests in similar dresses to this for a day wedding, although they were brighter colours. For the evening this is perfect.

Thank you so so much for all the positive comments, as well as the not so nice (I like to know worse scenario so this is v helpful!). You are all good eggs.

Feeling much less nervous now about wearing it, it'll be my first time glamming up since losing weight and I'm very much a baggy jeans/sweatshirt type of woman so have been a bit out of my depth!

It's fabulous. If you take a wrap to cover your shoulders while travelling, maybe add a contrast colour or a different texture, but the dress itself is stunning.

Jewellery?

Thank you so much! Gold jewellery (earrings and necklace) but I'm not sure at all what colour to get for a shawl. I have pale pink or black heels (think the latter works best) so have a few options

Haha I did! And I got a super cute bag from TK Maxx so just going to pull my big girl Spanx on and try to act comfortable in it.

All you ladies have honestly made me feel so much better

I know you said evening…just make sure about any religious dress codes and take wrap for shoulders if needed.
