Chin Hairs FFS

Why do these pesky hairs seem to hide in plain sight!

Had a scour of my chin before I went away and now i'm here they all seem to have sprouted out of nowhere. Bright mirror lights are showing all of them up!!

Tried to get them out (forgot my tweezers) and they spring back on themselves like christmas ribbon you've scissored. Aaarrgghhh

No one tells you about this stuff!

I got one of those electric whizzy sticks to get rid of all the peach fuzz. Works a dream on the fine fluff but when you go over one of those long hairs it really tugs and stings!

Does the hair grow back finer or does it make them stronger? I bought one of those but haven’t dared used it. I have a lot of fine downy hair on my face .

I've got so many of the fuckers now, I epilate. Yes, it hurts! Started off tweezing 'em every morning, then they multiplied so much it would've taken all day.

For something else to look forward to, my mother found hers growing back so fast that the only sensible option now is to shave twice a day. Unlike her, I do let mine go wild for a few days - until they've gone long and weird. This means I have something very similar to a teenage boy's moustache & beard more often than I'm smoothly hairless 😳

Yes to the strange eyebrow hairs! People think my brows are suffering from previous over-plucking. Not at all - it's that they are replacing their lovely, smooth, black hairs with thick, wiry, white ones that shoot out at 90° from my face. I have to cut them down or pull them out, so my eyebrows consist mainly of gaps & stubble.

I don't know whether I'm more angry at my hormones or youthful beauty standards!

I strongly suggest getting ombre eyebrows, they are amazing and have changed my routine so much for me. I love how I look when I wake up, more awake.

I have a tiny mole on my cheek, no bigger than a freckle. I have a hair that grows there that I pluck on a regular basis, one day its not there but the next day its about two inched long.

God yes me too.
I am fair and not really hairy so am a bit complacent, i haven't bothered shaving my legs for years as I live in jeans, happened to look at my legs with my glasses on and while I only have a smattering of hair they are dark and really long. I suppose they will be on my chin next, so that's something to look forward to.

I've got one of these mirrors. Godsend!

Not sure I am brave enough for one of those.

When DH’s grandma was in a home his dad used to go over every day with an electric razor.

Your FiL is a good man, his Mum raised him well!! 😁

Mojodojocasahaus · 14/08/2023 00:55

I love picking chin hairs - I’d probably add them to a list of my favourite hobbies.

I’ve got tweezers in my desk tidy, thankfully I WFH

BillyBraggisnotmylover · 14/08/2023 01:02

Even though it irritates my skin so much more and takes 50 times longer, it is somehow so much more satisfying plucking them out with finger nails than with tweezers. No idea why.

Just had to look that up. I can see why you like them. But ...
£500!!!!

I'm gonna have to stay straggly.

Nat6999 · 14/08/2023 01:34

I use the Tweezerman facial hair remover, it is fantastic, don't ask me how it works, it just does, I can even use it in the dark.

Loreleii · 14/08/2023 01:51

OP, I feel your pain! I have PCOS, so I've had a lot of dark chin/neck hairs since my 20's. Finally started getting electrolysis on them and wish I'd done it years ago.

Quitelikeacatslife · 14/08/2023 02:18

I had my chin lazered about 6 years ago and only now just coming back and not as strong. I wanted to do them before they turned grey as it only works on dark hairs. Worth the money though as is small area.

Toddlerteaplease · 14/08/2023 06:41

I had laser. Worth every penny.

BoobyDazzler · 14/08/2023 06:46

I discovered one one my cheek yesterday while sitting in traffic. Half an inch long. God know how long it had been there.

Thankfully I have car tweezers.

😩

Summerwashout · 14/08/2023 07:13

Can laser or electricity work in mole gait?? Poor dd has a large facially mole which is sprouting. She's 15

CherryogDog · 14/08/2023 07:13

I'm a wimp and just shave the hog bristles on my face.
I've had a double mastectomy, with a DIEP reconstruction, so my boobs are belly fat. My areola are made from belly skin. My body hair and skin is very pale, so not usually noticeable.
The first time I saw the carpet of hair growing round my nipples was a total WTF? moment 😅

LadyRoughDiamond · 14/08/2023 07:48

@hs502sr I just use the same Braun Silk-epil that I use for legs etc, but you can get small-headed ones these days that are specifically for the face.

CrazyFrogDingDing · 14/08/2023 07:57

I've had a full on goatee which requires daily shaving for around 10 years. It's been shaved, waxed, plucked, threaded, shouted at, cried at and the bastard still greets me every bloody morning.
I shave more regularly than my husband!!
I once left it alone for a few days when I was home alone to see what would happen and I was surprised the bloody circus didn't phone to offer me a position!
Thanks menopause, you beard sprouting bitch.

historyrepeatz · 14/08/2023 08:00

DM was mortified when someone said she had a hair on her face thinking it was head hair fallen there and they tried to take it off only to find it was attached!

samybooker · 14/08/2023 08:12

Everyone is on about a couple strands and white fine hairs ... LOL I WISH. I have about 20 thick long jet black hairs sprouting out of my chin that I have to pluck all the time. They could grow to about 2 inches long if I left them. It hurts to pull them out and leaves me with a beard rash. I am starting to wonder if I am truly a female. Don't even get me started on my moustache either ...

biedrona · 14/08/2023 08:39

madeinmanc · 13/08/2023 20:38

I was wondering if you can remove them with electrolysis? I can't stand them.

I did and it was life changing. Bit of pain but worth it.

Rina66 · 14/08/2023 09:57

@CrazyFrogDingDing 😂😂😂

Oh I definitely have more than a few, it's becoming a full time job keeping them at bay! Shaving with my little rechargeable shaver doesn't get the short ones, so I'm left with dark stubble. I've ordered Wilkinsons razors to try.

JumpinJellyfish · 14/08/2023 10:54

Omg I’ve found my tribe! Is this normal
then?!

Im 36 and in the last 12-18 months I’ve had to pluck my chin regularly. Thankfully the hairs are blonde but they are spiky! I am constantly feeling for them and then cannot rest til I tweezer them out!

I was starting to wonder if it suggests some kind of hormonal issue (like pcos?) or if it’s a normal part of ageing? My periods are still regular and hair growth seems normal elsewhere!

I’ve nearly started this thread so often. I’m 50 and my chin hairs and a couple on my neck are like a full time fucking job. I have to carry tweezers everywhere. If I can’t get one when I first feel it it drives me nuts. There is a brief lull when they are in the non growing phase but most days it’s constant. I need laser.
it’s really satisfying when you get a big thick white one on the first go tho!

Sitting here tweezering as I type. Full time job.

Doesn't that only work on dark hair?
