I'll start.
Splatter cover in the microwave, so all I have to do is pop it in the dishwasher.

As soon as I wake up, I chug some water.

Robot vacuum
Bread maker
Reliable cleaner
Bin bags that fit the bin
10 mins yoga a day (I have an app so involves no thought other than turning the app on and doing what it says)
Trolley coin keyring

Reduced caffeine - was a complete addict til a year ago. I love not having to go to the shop at odd times because I'd run out of diet coke and needed it to get going in the morning 🙄
I also do a 5 minute body scan (free on YouTube) if I ever feel anxious.

Both these two combined have reduced my blood pressure from being something that my GP was concerned about to never going over 130/90.

Listening to Clear Minds Hypnotherapy before bed, makes me so calm and get a great nights sleep!

debbs77 · 15/06/2023 20:23

A white bin bag in the kitchen small bin, tied up and put into a big black bin bag to go in the dustbin. Haven't had flies or maggots which normally make me gag. Also put the bin out every night.

Kids:
make their own lunches
Get their own washing from the pile once clean and dry
Make their own beds
Sort their own school clothes the night before
Have a chore a day

GobbolinoCat · 15/06/2023 20:55

I've never worried about splitting washes unless brand new dark blue! Red item.

Never worried about school shirts being absolutely pristine.

Doing a daily Wordle. I just actively look forward to it and it always gives me a little boost when I get it right.

Don't be afraid to delegate :'could you do xyz'

I have to drive DS to cricket training every Thursday. It is 2 hours. I don't have time to drive home and back again so instead I walk around the pitch in the evening sunshine counting my steps on an app and I walk around the pitch on Saturday in laps and I feel fitter for doing this.

If a job will take less than 5 minutes do it there and then .

Going to try this out!

It definitely works - I used to think I’ll do that later …

IamRoyFuckingKent · 15/06/2023 22:08

mini kettle in my room so I have coffee in bed in the morning
iphone chargers with 6ft leads upstairs and downstairs
Big bottles of tap water rotated in the fridge

LindorDoubleChoc · 15/06/2023 18:53

Never leave a room empty handed.

This is extremely sage, it works

HappyHappyy · 15/06/2023 22:14

Filling the kettle the night before.

Clothes out and ready for work the night before.

Lightbulbspark · 15/06/2023 22:16

I have the kids school bags on hooks by the front door. Next to them is a hanging storage unit with about 8 compartments. In this goes random things they may need for school. Things like cooking aprons, craft aprons, woolly hats/ sun hats, P.E bags and some sports stuff (shin pads). Bags get packed the night before.

SlightlygrumpyBettyswaitress · 15/06/2023 22:25

Get dishwasher tabs, washing tabs, kitchen roll, loo roll and vitamins delivered every 3 months with Amazon prime. Don't have to think about it or look for bargains.

WheeshtYaBam · 15/06/2023 22:31

Love this to thread. Nothing to add but plenty to adopt!

Bumble84 · 15/06/2023 22:34

@tunainatin id also like to know the yoga app you use.

whirlygirly · 15/06/2023 22:56

Intermittent fasting.

Sorted the weight and therefore the dressing issue and also I now need to buy and cook less so it's cheaper and saves me time in the morning.

It's a multi win.

Jennylou88 · 15/06/2023 22:59

Tidy the kids toys in the lounge and wipe down the kitchen before bed. I hate coming down to a messy house. So doing this means I start the day off in a better place.

online food shopping - saves so much time

Ponderingtosk · 15/06/2023 23:01

Four pop up washing bins, 1 for whites and lights, one for colours, one for darks and one for handwash. All clothes must be right way out when they go in and all pockets empty.

carry as you go, check about myself before leaving a room to see if there’s anything that needs going where I’m heading.

hands free phone on speaker, my dad likes a long chat so I dust and tidy the house while I talk to him. (Good for my getting my steps in too).

and a new one for me. All Tupperware type boxes are stored with their lids on, therefore whenever you need a tub it has its lid, the video then said if you’re low on tubs you need to clean your fridge.

AwfulTed · 15/06/2023 23:12

Two deodorants: one in bathroom and one in underwear drawer
Keep cleaning product and cloths IN the bathrooms… two hoovers… hand cream in every coat pocket and bag , I get given a lot and this prompts me to use them
tweezers and nail file in car (emergency use only)

Twillow · 15/06/2023 23:15

Magic marker the date on the lid of things like cream cheese when they get opened, to save them sitting there in limbo with no-one wanting to eat it or throw it away until it has visible mould! And a white board on the outside of fridge with what leftovers etc are in there to be eaten up.

Most things in our house have a home (location), it makes things so much easier to find.

Another vote for 'never go up or downstairs empty handed', returning things to their previously mentioned homes or dirty cups or glasses into the dishwasher.

I keep multivitamins both in my drawer at work and in our kitchen so I can take them at lunch whether I'm at home or at work.

I just try to put systems in place to make life easier. So for consumable items like toothpaste I will have one in use and one in reserve. Once I open the reserve item I will put it on the Google Keep list for shopping.
